The Stone of Calm & Clarity

Some stones don’t demand attention…
they just shift the energy around you.

Amethyst is one of them.

Long before it became known as a stone of calm, it was valued across ancient cultures for its connection to clarity, protection, and a steady mind.

In Greek mythology, it’s often linked to Dionysus —
where it was believed to help prevent intoxication and keep thoughts clear and balanced.

Across other cultures, it was placed in spaces meant for rest, reflection, and connection.
Not for intensity… but for stillness.

Even the way it forms reflects that same feeling.

Amethyst gets its rich purple color from iron within the crystal, combined with natural radiation over time —

The Stone of Intuition & New Beginnings

Long before it was known as a stone of intuition, moonstone was connected to the moon itself —
its light, its cycles, and the quiet rhythm of change.

In ancient Rome, it was believed to be formed from solidified moonlight —
something that carried the energy of the moon itself.

In Indian tradition, moonstone has long been considered sacred —
often connected to love, intuition, and new beginnings.

It was even carried by travelers, believed to offer guidance and protection —
especially under the light of the moon.

Its name comes from the way it catches the light…

That glow comes from layers within the stone —
a type of feldspar formed by two minerals, orthoclase and albite, coming together and allowing light to scatter softly between them.

A soft, glowing shimmer that seems to move beneath the surface —
sometimes appearing blue (often seen in what’s called rainbow moonstone) or a milky white.

Even the way it looks feels like that.

Shifting.
Soft.
Always changing.

And honestly… it’s one of those stones that feels gentle, but strong 🤍

The Stone of Truth & Inner Wisdom

Long before it was known as a stone of truth, lapis lazuli was treasured across ancient civilizations as a symbol of wisdom, power, and deep knowing.

In ancient Egypt, it was closely associated with both Isis and Cleopatra —
connected to the divine, intuition, and inner sight.

It was used in jewelry, burial masks, and sacred objects meant to bridge the physical and spiritual worlds.

It was even ground into powder and used in early cosmetics —
a rich, deep blue pigment worn to line the eyes and adorn the face.

And while it may have been used as a beauty technique…
it still draws attention to the eyes —
the way we see, perceive, and understand the world around us.

Which feels fitting for a stone so often connected to clarity, awareness, and inner knowing.

Which is kind of interesting…

Because even with that history, lapis lazuli isn’t really known as a “beauty” stone today.

If anything, it’s known for something deeper.

Truth.
Clarity.
Inner knowing.

Even the way it looks reflects that.

Lapis lazuli gets its deep blue color from lazurite within the stone,
often paired with natural flecks of pyrite that give it those gold-like flashes.
