Chelsea Allen Art

Chelsea Allen Art I'm Chelsea Allen, a self-taught oil painter from Conception Bay South, NL. Chelsea's inspiration comes from nature—local gardens and winding trails.

I create expressive floral works—soft, vibrant, and full of life—capturing the delicate beauty and quiet strength of flowers through rich color, movement, and emotion. Chelsea Allen is a self-taught artist from Conception Bay South, Newfoundland and Labrador. She works mainly in oils and has been painting for over a decade, but it’s in the last few years that she's found her voice through floralsc

apes. She usually has her camera, snapping photos of whatever catches her eye. The love for flowers started early, with Chelsea watching her Nan, Rowena, tend to her garden. She can remember how tall and lush everything seemed, and that sense of wonder that's never left. While she has experimented with many mediums, oil paints are where everything clicked. She loves the richness, the texture, and how it lets her bring what she sees—and feels—to the canvas. Canadian artist Tim Packer has been a big influence on her journey; his courses helped her grow more confident in her style and direction. Through her paintings, she hopes to create that feeling of stepping into a hidden garden—peaceful, colourful, and full of quiet magic.

Clean my brushes with me! 🖌️👩‍🎨 I was left with some crunchy guys that will need some extra love and one that did not make it 😅

The studio’s been quiet — life needed me elsewhere for a while 🩵 After the loss of my Pop, my pup’s surgery and recovery, and some much-needed rest (still working on those last two lol)… I’m finally back at the canvas 🎨😌

Ps - I also let my fav brush for spreading colour dry up 🤦🏼‍♀️ Using that small one was painful 😅

Just finished the base layer, my rough sketch if you will, to this - what will be beautiful lush landscape!🌲🍂 It’s one of the largest canvases I’ve worked on and so far, I’ve been enjoying the - at times intimidating - process of working large scale!

I was buying paint recently and realized when I got home that I already had the colour I needed, it was just hidden in the heap of paints that were all mixed together 😅

I sorted them into colours and there’s something satisfying to see them all laid out like this! AND now I can see what I actually have (and yes, there are certainly some duplicates lol)
