Playing with FMP Chestler today. The first coat went on pretty green and I was worried but the second coat turned into this deep blue with turquoise vibes....not quite navy

This was a fun test piece for me playing with a stain & paint combo (FMP coal black). Had a little trouble with thin veneer in spots but still a beauty. Found a couple of the old pulls down deep in the dresser but not enough to complete it so they will be saved for a future project and I found a set at a thrift store that fit.

New Journals made from Upcycled Little Golden Books (and a few Happy Day Books). Some of these are still available for purchase and a selection of them are in Winnipeg at Globosapiens Book Store

Unless otherwise stated, all of these Upcycled Little Golden Book journals include: complete original text of the book and 40 double-sided pages (80 sides) of alternating heavy-weight, lined looseleaf and heavy, creamy white, blank cardstock, All are bound with 2:1, metal coil binding and lay flat when opened. Books are all in good-to-excellent vintage condition with some markings and shelf wear.

Journals are priced at $10 each or 3/$25. Cash and e-transfer are accepted. Contactless pick up, local delivery, and shipping (for a fee) are available.

A few things I've worked on recently. The bench, the Lego table, and the chair are all sold. (Yay!) The sawhorses I made for myself....a little touch of colour... Cause who wants plain 2x4 sawhorses when there's paint to be used up!

How's this for a sweet little update? I'm not a big fan of hearts carved into furniture...but now that this bench looks like it belongs in a little girl's reading corner instead of under a pile of old magazines and dead house plants....it's not so bad after all. Painted, distressed a bit, waxed to finish it off....and a cozy cushion....it's ready to go. For sale! If you're interested, pm me.
