If you pass me in the street, I'll answer to either one. I was born in Saskatchewan, and I’ve always been an outdoor enthusiast. I spent many weekends out by the Clearwater River (Rockyview County) where I clear space in my mind for inspiration and collect anything I can use to translate that inspiration to others. One of my biggest inspirations was my mom, and I'm lucky to say, still is today. Sh
e always felt that I had a hidden talent somewhere, but it wasn't until I moved to Alberta, where my art really started to take shape. You'll find snow in some of my artwork because growing up we "chose" to embrace the winter months here in Alberta, allowing me to appreciate the sparkle of the winter months instead of hiding from them. We have since moved to BC where I am now taking my hobby to new heights. With the ocean just down the road I'm constantly amazed at how it can manufacture such beautifully unique pebbles and driftwood. Making something from nothing is the most satisfying thing. The world is a piece of art that is waiting to be assembled and preserved. So often a moment or idea will catch my attention and beg to be captured. I choose to set it in stone (and any other natural objects on my path). I began this art medium about 10 years ago. Making pieces for friends and family to enjoy. I always feel that a hand-made gift is a little more special. I've been working on my craft ever since. Evolving, designing, adding elements such as driftwood, twigs, sea glass, crystals, ink, clay, and cotton, I will continue to find new ways to capture the beauty of life that is all around us.
