Hi everyone! I hope you're all finding creative ways to stay safe while we work our way through this Covid-19 situation. Like most small businesses we have had to adjust the way we operate this year. For us that means a delayed start date for the season. We are hopeful that in a few weeks we will be able to open our store to all the antique lovers out there, but we have not set a date yet.
We have accumulated many new and interesting items over the winter including an extensive collection of occupied Japan wares.
I will keep you posted and hope to see you soon.

Only one week away from the Sundre Fine Art expo! July 27th and 28th. I will be exhibiting my watercolor and acrylic paintings in the show and sale. Looking forward to sharing the art show experience with you! Billy the Bear antique store will be open that weekend.

Rain or shine here comes the weekend! Hopefully more shine than rain but either way the store will be open and ready for all you antique and art lovers!
Just to let you know, on July 27th and 28th I will be operating a booth at the Sundre Art Expo located in the Sundre Community Center. I am honored to have been chosen as one of the artists featured in this exciting art show and sale. On the Saturday, July 27th, at 2pm, I am one of the contestants in an art competition held in conjunction with this Art Expo. The competitors are required to complete an acrylic 16" X 20" painting. The judges of the competition will be the general public attending the art show. The completed paintings from the competition will then be sold in a silent auction with proceeds going to charity. My sister Karen Courtney was also selected to showcase her fabulous one of a kind hand painted feathers in this show. For that special gift for the "hard to buy for person", you won't want to pass up this opportunity to see Karen's painted feather's, buffalo skulls and more!! I am posting a small sample of Karen's work and a few of my paintings.
Billy the Bear will remain open that weekend - I am leaving the store in excellent hands to ensure that antique hunting can continue as usual!

Only 3 more days until the Long Weekend begins and the Store is open!! We have some beautiful consignment items on display including one of the most stunning rocking chairs we've ever seen, and some medalta butter churns. See you soon!

Antique season is here for another year! We're busy getting ready for our opening day on May 18th. We look forward to seeing all our regular and first time customers. Come check out some of the new and unique items that have come in over the winter!

Summer's just around the corner and we're getting to excited to share another great season of antiquing. We've been collecting treasures all winter and look forward to sharing them with you! Check out our latest project - a shelf made from a re-purposed door. We will resume our regular store hours 10am - 5pm every Saturday and Sunday from
May long weekend, until Labour Day weekend in Septmeber. Opening Day will be Saturday May 18th!
