Last week I quietly celebrated 40 years in the floral industry. ❤️
I was in high school when I walked into my local florist, Webb's Flowers in Bramalea, Ontario, with my art portfolio in hand. My mom drove me 😊
I was hired, and there, I not only learned how to work in a flower shop, I learned how to be an employer. My boss, Glen Webb, took me in his care as another one of his daughters. I am so very grateful I started my floral career under such great circumstances, as I flourished there. I spent a year at university, but came back to the flower shop, as it was where I truly belonged. I knew one day I would open my own shop, as I was entrepreneurial from a very young age. In 1997, La Belle Fleur opened its doors. Next year is our 30th anniversary!!! To love what you do and do what you love is a privilege!

Today is National Truth and Reconciliation Day.
Please pause for a moment to remember the indigenous children and families who have suffered so greatly, particularly in residential schools. It is Canada's dark history, and we cannot forget that it happened, and we cannot deny it either. In light of what transpired in Kamloops on the weekend, I will be donating to a charity that helps Indigenous peoples who are suffering from mental health issues like PTSD.
We are open from 10-2, and a portion of our sales will fund this donation.
