WILDFIRES CONTINUE ACROSS NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO
The wildfire situation in North Western Ontario remains extremely volatile, with multiple communities under mandatory evacuation orders and alerts, as firefighters continue battling intense fire activity across the region. Many people have lost their homes, camps, and possessions. We ask that, in this devastating time, we show compassion and understanding. It doesn’t take much to actively listen to someone who just needs someone to hear them.
As of Tuesday, officials reported in excess of 128 active wildfires across Northwestern Ontario, with smoke, dry conditions, and extreme fire behaviour continuing to challenge firefighting efforts.
Several highway closures remain in effect and motorists are encouraged to check Ontario 511 before travelling.
There are ongoing reports on social media cataloging the destruction and blaming whatever political entity they feel is to blame. The truth is, wildfires are an act of God and nature. Could we have better resources – yes. Should we have kept our own here ‘just in case’ – maybe, but then you are condemning other human lives on just that – just in case. We have been given the hand we’ve been dealt for a reason and a purpose, so now is the time we come together as a community and stand strong. WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS!
Members of the public are encouraged to rely on updates from emergency officials and community leadership for the latest confirmed information. Please listen to them without twisting the information.
At SRS Windows and Doors Inc, our thoughts and prayers are with all evacuees, First Nations communities, firefighters, emergency responders, volunteers, animal rescue organizations, and everyone affected by these devastating wildfires. Please stay safe, stay alert and watch for the elders in our communities to ensure their health and safety.

And lastly, please reach out to your community leaders to find out where and how you can help as we are being flooded with displaced, panicked people who have most likely lost everything. Most hotels and motels are accepting donations for those evacuees and there are organizations opening their doors to accept donations as well.
If you don't know where to bring non perishable items that you would like to donate to help, please drop off at 665 Beaverhall Place Unit 1 and we will make sure those items get into the right hands.
