đź“Ś Tariff Update FAQ: What Customers Are Asking
Since sharing our recent update on the Government of Canada's new tariff countermeasures taking effect September 8, we've received a number of questions. Here's what we know so far:
Q: Is SRS increasing prices?
A: No. These are government-imposed customs duties and are not price increases from SRS, our suppliers, or our manufacturers.
Q: Will all products be affected?
A: No. Many Canadian-manufactured products, including most windows, doors, vinyl siding, aluminum siding, stone products, Alu-Rex products, and several Gentek-manufactured product lines are not currently expected to be affected.
Q: What if my products are already in stock at SRS?
A: Products currently in our inventory will not be subject to tariff-related surcharges.
Q: How will I know if my order is affected?
A: Any applicable charges will be shown separately on your order confirmation and invoice under "Surcharge / Customs Duties."
Q: Why are some products affected while others aren't?
A: The tariffs are generally being applied to products or materials imported from the United States. Even products manufactured in Canada may be affected if they contain steel, aluminum, hardware, or other components sourced from the U.S.
Q: What is SRS doing to help?
A: We've increased inventory on several product lines ahead of the September 8 implementation date and continue to work closely with suppliers to identify products that can help customers avoid or minimize tariff-related costs.
The reality is that the information is still evolving, and we're receiving updates almost daily. We will continue to be transparent with our customers and share information as it becomes available.
