🌱 🪏 ☀️ Looking forward to another season of growing broom corn 🧹 🌽 + finally trying my hand at making my own fireplace brooms. Wouldn’t they be great to pair with my forged fire tools? ☀️ 🪏 🌱

Just got off a call with a fella wanting to learn Damascus knife making — tried encouraging me to teach him just because I’ve spent a bit of time over a decade ago. Ha! Yeah, not I, sir. But I did recommend some other talented guys, like my friend Cody Daniel Myers of WolfHeart! So many courses at North House Folk School, a short drive away in Grand Marais.

🔥 Studio progress today: forged a TP holder and towel rack. I really enjoy the gothic leaf design.

🥱 But that was a long day. After teaching drawing this morning, I thought I’d be in the studio by early afternoon. Why does it take so long to get out there at times? 😆 (I swear I wasn’t even dragging my heals!)

🪵 At least each time I took a bathroom break from the forge, I also carried an armload of firewood to the porch, so that’s once again stocked up for the cold weather ahead. 🥶

🧊 To culminate, I went and cracked the swimming hole back open and covered it with a bunch of snow. Ready for my morning sauna and cold plunge. 😎

8pm: 🍽️ time for dinner & feeling thankful for leftovers!! 🤗
