It is with a very heavy heart, after 15 years of serving loyal Northwestern Ontario customers, that we will be closing our physical doors in a couple months’ time, shifting our business toward our online store only. This decision was not easy after being such an integral part of the community’s retail scene.
As our community is well aware, there have been numerous setbacks since the pandemic, one of the most detrimental being the implementation of paid parking by . Paid parking caused a loss of revenue in the hundreds of thousands of dollars the first 6 months alone, as city residents boycotted the marina. Curiously, we were not at all consulted by the City or any of its agents with respect to what paid parking at the marina would do to our business. This is despite our store being in a City-owned property.
A leaking roof, crumbling patio, lack of heat for months at a time, in the dead of winter every year, are just a few of the other reasons contributing to our decision to not renew our lease. Despite our many successes as a retail operation, the stressors described above were too much to handle.
Our business name and brand will remain for sale, and we are still open to offers.
We will continue to order lighting and rugs, as these will be continued on through our website after we no longer have the storefront. We also will be placing one last dinnerware order at the end of May for anyone wanting to complete partial sets. We are happy to keep our clients connected to some of the world’s most trusted brands and high-quality goods, something which our store prided itself on.
Please note : we will be accepting the few remaining / outstanding gift cards until MAY 31st 2025.
We will be starting liquidation on Tuesday, May 13th 2025. All regular priced items, including displays will be starting at 10% OFF. All shelving and equipment are for sale as well (prices tbd soon).
We want to thank all of our loyal clientele for their support over the last 15 years. You, our beloved customers, helped to make KÜHL Interiors a First Nation success story in this community. We look forward to seeing all of you in our final weeks.
