HI, I'm Chris. Apparently, I’m the new Andre.

Okay, maybe not exactly. But I am the guy you’ll be calling for installations, schedules, logistics and everything it takes to keep your project moving.

I bring more than 20 years of contract furniture operations and installation experience to OMI, including architectural walls and plenty of time spent on the dealer side of the business. I know the details matter, the schedule matters and being there when you need something really matters.

Andre has spent some time showing me the ropes and yes, I officially have his seal of approval.

I’m looking forward to getting to know OMI’s clients and partners, working alongside Stacey and this incredible team, and helping keep the great work moving forward.

Fourteen years. Countless projects. So many great relationships. And one incredible team.

To every client, partner, manufacturer, rep, contractor, friend and team member who has been part of the OMI journey — thank you.

You trusted us, supported us, worked alongside us and helped turn an idea Stacey and I had back in 2012 into something I’ll always be incredibly proud of.

Now it’s time for my next chapter; more family, more travel, a few projects of my own and, with any luck, a whole lot more sailing.

Open Mind Interiors is hiring a Professional Furniture & Walls Installer to join our Thunder Bay team, effective immediately.

You’ll work alongside our experienced installation crew to transform drawings, components and a whole lot of moving pieces into beautifully finished workplaces across Northwestern Ontario.

Think of every project as one very large, very satisfying puzzle, with an impressive client reveal at the end.

You may be our perfect fit if you’re:

• Handy, capable and eager to learn
• Reliable, resourceful and quick on your feet
• Comfortable reading drawings and working with tools
• Proud of the details—from the first component to the final wipe-down
• Ready to represent OMI professionally on site

The details:

• Full-time position in Thunder Bay
• Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Benefits eligibility after six months
• Teknion furniture and architectural wall installation training

After years of dedication, leadership, and being such an important part of Open Mind Interiors, Andre is officially heading into retirement!

As a co-owner, partner, and familiar face at Open Mind, Andre has left a lasting mark on our team, our clients, and the work we do. We were so happy to come together and celebrate him - and what better way to send him off than with an evening at the ballpark?

Andre, thank you for everything you’ve brought to Open Mind over the years. We hope retirement brings plenty of time for family, sailing, skiing, Silver Islet, and whatever adventure comes next.

For the first time, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) and Louis Kahn have partnered with Teknion's IkonStudio to bring a curated selection of its once-bespoke furniture designs into production. Originally created for iconic projects like IBM Headquarters and the Halston offices, these pieces have been thoughtfully updated with modern materials and ergonomics without losing what made them timeless.

Erin and Courtney came to us with a vision for their brand-new Memorial Avenue location: a “forever” office designed to support the next chapter of their business.
