New year, new mini pet hoop! Swipe to the end to see her in real life! 🐶

This was made as a little memorial piece 🕊

The Deets:

🔸A large portion of her fur was white, so I used a warm, light brown to outline the design to make the definition of her face more noticable and match with the rest of her brown fur colours 🤍💓🧡

🔸One of her owner's favourite attributes of her was the big ears ! I made sure to capture their size as best as I cloud 👂

🔸I used various shades of pink for the interior of the ears, the nose and the mouth - this offered some nice colour balance throughout the design🧵

Surprise birthday hoop for Kelly!!🎈

Kelly is an origami crafter, so we designed this hoop to put in her at home studio.

The Deets:

🔸️We went with a cool colour scheme for the hoop, using purple, blue and green to mimic 2D origami patterns - fun fact, Kelly designed the blue owl pattern herself! 👩‍🎨

🔸️Centered at the top, we stitched "Kelly's Studio" in a bold font to make the personalization pop. We used blue since this is her fave colour (see last pic for a close up view) 💙 

🔸️To add a bit of bedazzle, we included abstract design along the sides of the writing, and even added in a few beads for sparkle 🌟

A Family Portrait Hoop! 💑 

This hoop was ordered through Etsy to commemorate the couple's 1 year anniversary - and I thought it was so cute that they included their doggos in it, too 🥂

The Deets:

🔸 I was in LOVE flowers of the bride's bouquet and knew that I had to capture this in a more unique way so, I used French knots to really make the flowers pop 💐 I also added some shiny beads to her hairpiece to offer some extra sparkle 🌟

🔸 Something blue (for both the bride and groom)! I stitched long strands of royal and navy blue for the bouquet ribbon and the tie, respectively 💙

🔸 For an extra touch of cohesion, we decided to stitch matching bandanas on each of their dogs 🐶

🔸 I stitched the pets a few rows lower to form a slight crescent shape to their alignment and to give the overall look of the hoop a bit more dimension,  ✅

It was such a pleasure to craft such a personal hoop, and I was so happy to know that they loved it 😊

Nursery hoop for baby Rishi! 👶 

Went went the classic giraffe/elephant duo for this one 🦒🐘

The Deets:

 🔸I used tiny black beads for the eyes of each animal; offers a 3-D component as well as a lil' extra sparkle 🌟

🔸To personalize the hoop, we stitched Rishi's name and birth date in the top right of the hoop. The black thread matches nicely with the grey of the elephant 🎨

🔸If you look closely, you'll see that I used long embroidered strange for the end of the giraffe's tail as well as the elephant's trunk! 🧵

The Nintendo Controllers Hoop 🎮

It had been a while since I've crafted this hoop, so I was very excited when I received an order for it through Etsy! ✉️

The Deets:

🔸I use a light oatmeal cloth for this hoop to offer a stronger colour contrast for the couple of white controllers 🎨

🔸Each controller displays the North American release date underneath it 📅

🔸My personal favourite is the Gamecube controller - so many memories playing outstanding games with that controller...and I still use it today to play Smash Bros. 💪

Nursery Hoop for baby Julian! 🧵👶

Congrats to .f who recently became a Zia and ordered this adorbs hoop for her new nephew 👶

The Deets:

🔸We went with a new animal duo for this hoop, a giraffe and lion 🦒🦁

🔸The "special" feature of this hoop lies in the eyes of each animal - I used black beads to give a lil' extra sparkle 👀

🔸 Julian's nursery has a sage green theme, so we used a dark shade of sage for the personalized writing of his name and birthdate to fit with the theme (see the last pic for a close up!) 💚

Always warms my heart to stitch a custom nursery hoop like this!

The latest pet portrait hoop - meet Otto 🐶 Swipe to the end to see a pic of him IRL!

This was for a repeat client through Etsy where we made Straw and Bean; now they have a mini hoop of each of their fur babies 💕🐱🐶🐱💕

The Deets:

🔸While the majority of Otto's fur is white, I noticed there were some parts of pink and orange around the eyes/nose that I wanted to make sure were captured in the design 🤍💓🧡

🔸To accentuate and define his eyes, I used a thin strand of charcoal/brown floss to create eyelids 👀

🔸Centered along the bottom of the 3-inch hoop, we added extra personalization by stitching Otto's name in black 🧵

Nursery Hoop for baby Brielle!! 👶

I made this as a lil gift for my friend who recently welcomed his daughter Brielle! 💕

The Deets:

🔸I've stitched a giraffe for previous nursery hoops but, I've always wanted to try stitching a monkey and I love how it turned out! They make for a very cute pairing🦒🐵

🔸To add a little razzle dazzle, I used shiny beads to stitch the eyes of each animal 👀

🔸I wanted this to be very personalized so, I stitched Brielle's name and date of birth in a pretty shade of pink in the top right section of the hoop 💕

I couldn't be happier for my friend and his wife!

Wedding Hoop for my hubby Joe and I! 💕👰🤵💕

This past weekend, we tied the knot after almost 9 years together. I've made a few wedding hoops in the past so naturally, I had to make one for us! 😁

The Deets:

🔸The colour theme for our wedding was various shades of purple so, I decided to stitch our initials in a medium shade of purple 💜

🔸I wore a long veil which I tried replicating using long, embroidered strands. Joe wore a charcoal suit with black finishing/details which I tried to capture with the pocket and outline of the lapel. 🧵

🔸 Different from the other wedding hoops I've made, I used a different style for the eyes, added lil' smiles on us, and embroidered our hair to try and make it a bit more personalized 😁

🔸Centered at the bottom I stitched our wedding date 📅

I still have to decide where I'll display this in our home but, we've got plenty of time to decide on that! Now that the wedding is over, I imagine I'll have more time back in my day for stitching and all my other hobbies! 🤗 ✨

Meet Rocky!! 🐕Swipe to the end to see this guy IRL!

 I made this for the lovely from way back at Christmas time (hence the Christmas decor in the pictures lol) 🎄

The Deets:

🔸A very prominent feature I noticed on Rocky is his well-defined cheekbones - I used lighter shades to help accentuate this feature in the design 🧵

🔸I felt like Rocky gave off big "tough guy" vibes haha, so I decided to give him a frown and design the pattern to be a little wider than usual in an attempt to emphasize his tough-ness 😝💪

🔸 Centered along the bottom of the 3-inch hoop, we stitched Rocky's name in brown to match the shades of his fur 🤎
