Me as a mood board.

I find inspiration in nature first and foremost. I will nerd out over the colour variation in a leaf. A perfect piece of lichen. The natural curve of a branch fallen from a tree.

Textiles, interior design, a mood.

Look beyond what’s right in front of you, you might find your imagination running wild.

Copy. Paste.

Jk.

There are infinite possibilities when it comes to flower combinations. Colours, varieties, shapes, sizes. Seasonality, foraged materials, speciality locally grown goodies.

If this all feels overwhelming while planning your wedding or event, the good news is that it’s not actually your responsibility to pick out the exact flowers and combination and that’s on us creative floral specialists.

I think we’re getting too caught up on what’s trending and we’re losing sight of what feels authentic. In a world of endless possibilities, why are we creating the same thing over and over? Floral trends are fun until they’re not anymore (as in worldwide shortages of the trending flowers and exponential increase in costs due to demand).

Inspiration photos aren’t making us feel inspired when we keep being sent the same 5 ones.

I’d love to see non-flower inspiration photos. Textures, lines, shapes, architecture, paintings, fashion- anything that tells me more about your own taste and style. The things you like, not what the internet is telling you to like.

I’ll show you exactly what I mean in my next post 😉

In the meantime, enjoy this lovely capture by Jenn Kavanagh Photography

We’ve had such a busy week, thank you!

Lots of Rosh Hashanah orders, building 90 bouquets for Toronto Flower Market this Saturday, a bridal shower and flowers for a TV show that I might not get to tell you about for like 2 years 🙊

Next week is our busiest week of the year and with that I do have to notify you of a decision that was hard to make. Next week, Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday, our shop is going to be closed for in store shopping, pick ups and grab and gos. We need to focus on a heavy week of production for our events, but are still taking orders for deliveries. We will reopen Friday and then we’re open all weekend too!
