We’re always on the lookout for pen blanks with character, with history, with something to say.
And every now and then, one shows up that stops us mid-shelf.

This piece of American Walnut had that kind of presence.
Not loud, not flashy but full of quiet movement in the grain, like it had its own rhythm.
We paired it with a molten resin pour that felt more like a reveal than a design choice.

Some blanks are just blanks.
This one? This one has our heart.

📩 Want to bring your own piece to life? Let’s talk.

What started as curiosity last year quickly turned into a full-blown obsession.

It actually took a bit of convincing to get Maddy to try pen turning , but once he did, that was it. One lathe, a few blanks, and a whole lot of shavings later… he was hooked.

There’s something grounding about shaping a piece of wood by hand, watching exotic grains come to life , especially when the result is something as personal and timeless as a pen.

This one? African Black and white ebony. Dense, dark, and so satisfying to turn.
Many more to come.

Not every day in the workshop feels productive.
Some days it’s just sweeping sawdust, redoing a joint, or staring at a piece of wood waiting for it to make sense.

And yet showing up, that’s the whole game.

Skills don’t suddenly arrive. They sneak up on you. One slow cut at a time. One small correction. One “eh! not quite” turned into “actually… that works!”

The only way to get better is to keep showing up. Especially on the days when it doesn’t feel like much is happening.

And somehow… it adds up.

Shoutout to all the creatives who keep hammering away at their art.Even when it feels like nothing’s moving.

You’re building something. Always.

This little corner of our living room wasn’t always like this.

It used to be just an empty patch by the window until we brought in a beautiful pieces of olive wood we’d been saving for something just right. We didn’t know exactly what it’d become, only that it deserved more than gathering dust in the workshop.

A few weeks (and a lot of sanding, arranging, and rethinking) later, they became these nesting tables , part sculpture, part gathering spot.

Now the table holds our candles, books, coffee mugs… and often, us — sitting close, chatting, unwinding, just being.

It’s become the heart of the room — quiet, grounding, and warm. A reminder that some of the best things take shape slowly.

Throwback to one of our favourites 💛

We made this reversible lava tray for a client a while back with maple wood, resin with molten tones, and a whole lot of heart poured into it. Still one of those pieces that makes us pause and go - “ yeah! we really made that.”

It’s been quiet on here, I know. And yet, quiet Instagram doesn’t mean a quiet workshop. Things have been moving, making, evolving even if it doesn’t make it to the feed. And that’s okay.

Finding this picture on my phone today, reminded me how important it is to celebrate the things we’ve built the ones that stay with us long after they’ve left our hands.

Shots from our latest coffee build!

☕ Just finished this coffee table, and we’re a little in love.

The wood grain, the black accents, that olive wood grain and the live edge detail—it’s got such a vibe, right?

We had so much fun building this one.
Tell us your fave detail or where would you put a piece like this? Living room? Reading nook? —we’re all ears!

And if you’ve got questions about how it’s made or want something custom, hit us up! We love talking shop (and furniture).

Introducing Juni – our latest love from the woodshop! 🪵

✨ After sifting through piles (and I mean piles) of wood, this stunning juniper slab caught our eye with its subtle pinkish hues. 💖

🛠️ So, what did we do?
Made it a table clock, of course! Because who wouldn’t want a little pop of pink and a piece of nature’s charm ticking away on their desk or shelf?

🌲Every Juni clock is as unique as the tree it came from.

🕰️💬 Ready to add a slice of the wild to your space? Tell us where you’d place it – bedroom, living room, or that little nook you’re still decorating? Let’s hear it!

Stay tuned for more glimpses into our Juni collection, and grab yours while they’re still here!
