The kitchen at Project Glendonwynne was born out of the dark and gloomy dining room. The rear addition was reframed so the sun could flood the kitchen with light. One of the more dramatic and joyful transformations in this house.

Concealed in the built-ins, a secret (powder) room awaits. 🫣 Mu husband was averse to a powder room in an open area, but with a limited footprint and a long list of functional needs to check off, there wasn’t anywhere else to place it. Fortunately, the solid frameless door did the trick in muffling sounds and the built-ins created just enough privacy and separation.

A tiny powder room and a dark and dysfunctional closet were turned into a serene and spacious ensuite bathroom. One of the more challenging spaces I’ve had the pleasure of designing. 📐

The heart of the home. 🤍 To get the kitchen of our dreams, I had to flip the formal dining room and kitchen around, and open space between the two. Swipe to see the transformation process. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE a separate and formal dining room and I tried my best to fit one but, as with most city homes with a limited footprint, there are trade-offs in spatial planning and we had to make choices based on what’s most valuable to us. A large, functional, airy kitchen was non-negotiable. Do I wish I had a formal dining room, yes. Would I give up this kitchen for it, absolutely not.

Where days begin and end✨ When I’m designing, I start with emotions. Your home should work for you, not just in terms of functionality but also in terms of how it sets your mood. We wanted our bedroom to feel soothing and warm. There’s a little bit of rustic Italian, a little bit of Japanese minimalism, and a lot of earthy natural textures. We read in bed at night (books not devices) so a good dimmable bedside light was paramount - cue the cutest origami-style wall sconces.

This room is what sealed the deal when we were house hunting, not for what it was when we first saw it (3rd pic) but for what it could be (1st pic). The in-between stage (2nd pic), when we lived in the house with our old furniture while I concocted plans for the remodel, was awkward but it gave me the time and space to plan thoughtfully. 🤎

Coffee table and sofa are custom designs from my studio. DM for enquiries.

Morning perch ☕️ Some people mediate, I like to bask in sunlight, even if it’s cloudy and indirect. This is where I draw my energy and set my intentions for the day. When designing this rear addition, placement of windows and doors was carefully considered to maximize the light and create sight lines to the natural environment outside. The one window behind the chair is frosted to avoid window coverings while maintaining privacy (it looks directly into our neighbour’s house). In our next house, I’ll be chasing the light again. 💫
