Meet Maureen Alexander, one of our inaugural Women+ Entrepreneurship Program graduates and owner of JM Couture Crafts.

Maureen started her entrepreneurship journey when her daughter cried about a princess-themed birthday party, saying she couldn’t be a princess because her skin was brown.

This experience inspired Maureen to create JM Couture Crafts, a premium handcrafted greeting card and giftware company that showcases BIPOC imagery and aesthetics.

“I’m committed to ensuring that my daughters see themselves positively reflected in the world around them.”
