Wrote something about why your renovation is going to take longer than you think and why the person who told you otherwise was either wrong or hoping you wouldn’t notice until they had the job. Link in bio.

The folder is not the problem. Mistaking it for a plan is. Most clients arrive with hundreds of saved images and no real idea what they want built. A designer’s job, before anything gets specified or priced, is to find the decision hiding inside the inspiration. That gap is where projects either get real or get expensive. If you’re sitting on a folder and not sure what to do with it, a Design Direction Session is where we start. Link in bio.

This recent project is wrapped up and we're happy with how it finished. The tile work alone took three rounds of sourcing before we found the right glaze depth on the tub surround. The brass faucet will patina. The pulls are cast, not stamped. These are the kinds of calls that don't show up in a before and after but they're exactly what separates a room that with timeless design from one that doesn't.

We’ve just released the first two episodes of 900 DEGREES.

The premise is fairly simple: two designers talking about design and creative work while making pizza outdoors in a Toronto winter with an oven running near 900°F.

Episode 1: HEAT
Episode 2: PIVOT

What started as cooking quickly became a conversation about standards, adaptability, pressure, timing, recovery, and attention. Which, honestly, are most of the job.

Turns out live-fire cooking has a lot in common with design work. Conditions shift quickly and the results tend to reveal exactly how prepared you actually were.

Both episodes now live on Scope Creep

swipe for before👉👉👉

The little things are the big things.
This project came down to one decision: re-grading the backyard to a single level with a step landing at entry. A move that sounds minor until you're standing in the space and realize it changed everything about how it feels and functions.
More usable, significantly larger, and genuinely better to be in.

If you ask us for a one-liner - that's the job - Utility and beauty, not one or the other.
