Some ideas stay with you for years before they finally take form.

15 years ago, I clicked a photo at Verul Kailas Mandir, captivated by the mesmerizing play of light and shadow. Since then, I knew I wanted to turn it into a painting.

Last year, I finally put the sketch down, but the thought of starting the painting felt overwhelming. The blank canvas stayed on my wall for a full year, silently challenging me every day. I was too nervous to begin, fearing the commitment it demanded.

A few days ago, I finally decided to let go of the fear. Instead of focusing on finishing it quickly, I chose to paint a little every day, purely for my happiness. That shift in mindset made all the difference.

Presenting a painting that has been long overdue—but absolutely worth the wait.

This year has been a most creative year in the last decade or so. Got to do a few paintings, sculptures and workshops while being a Production Supervisor on Netflix’s upcoming 3D animated feature film ‘The Twits’ and also managing my seasonal crafts business expansion. Uncertainty in the animation industry is still a constant looming threat and it kind of pushed me to rekindle my art skills. Still testing waters and if possible, would love being a full time artist for good. Lets see what 2025 has to offer. But for now, finishing one more last painting of the year and moving on, hoping to never taking a break from paintings ever again. All the best to myself!
