I usually try things on my own, but this time I thought I’d bring in some friends and try something together. 🎨
Acrylic pouring felt like something low-effort yet exciting, so we went with it.
And honestly? Best decision ever. We had a blast. ✨
We used glue as the pouring medium, and it worked beautifully! Here’s how you can try it too 👇
What you’ll need:
• Acrylic paints (a few different colours)
• White glue (like Elmer’s or Fevicol)
• Water
• Canvas or thick paper (or anything you want to pour on)
• Cups and craft sticks
Steps:
1. Make your pouring medium:
Mix white glue and water in a 60:40 ratio until smooth and runny.
2. Mix your paints:
In separate cups, combine 1 part acrylic paint + 1 part of your pouring medium. Stir until smooth.
3. Layer your colors:
In a clean cup, pour your colors one by one, don’t mix at this stage.
4. Pour or flip:
Pour it on to the canvas in patterns or flip the cup onto your canvas and lift it slowly to release the paint. This is the point where you go crazy, do whatever you feel like, you can’t go wrong here!
5. Tilt gently:
Move the canvas around to let the paint flow and form patterns.
6. Let it dry:
Air dry for 24–48 hours. It may lose its glossy finish when it dries, you can always seal it later with a glossy varnish.
💡 Optional: Add a drop of silicone oil to some paints for cool “cells” and organic textures.
