Top picks.
Yesterday I stopped by one of my favorite showrooms to source a few unique pieces and needed to share some of them with you. If not ready for a full redesign, you can simply come shopping with me. Sourcing, selecting, refining - all the fun stuff!

Sometimes one or two pieces are all it takes to shift a space. If you like anything from the featured items or have a wish list of your own - please, reach out, share your thoughts, book a consultation.

This is what the past couple of months have actually looked like: construction sites, sourcing runs, decisions made on the go, things constantly shifting and coming together piece by piece. A lot happening behind the scenes, often all at once.

Stay tuned!

With the New Year and new faces here, it felt like the right moment to introduce myself and say hello again to those who have been following my work for years.

I am Inna, the designer behind Egoist Design. Ukrainian, born and raised in Kyiv. As a teenager, I moved to Canada with my family and went on to study and build a life in Toronto - a beloved city that has been home for many years.

As a child, long before interior design became a chosen profession, I was already drawn to the aesthetic potential of interiors. Homes always felt like cozy fortresses where everyday life unfolded. Walking down the street, I would glance into lit windows and imagine the lives inside: how a space was laid out, where people gathered, what conversations they had. From afar, light was often the first thing that caught my eye, it felt like the element that made interiors and their atmosphere dimensional.

That fascination never left and gradually grew into a way of seeing and, eventually, into the work I do today.

The first thing I examine when starting a project is how natural light enters the space and interacts with its structure, how it moves, shifts, and travels. Layering ambient, task, and accent lighting, materials, textures, tones, shapes, and patterns… Good design comes from balancing these elements with thoughtful planning and flow, so a space feels intuitive.

I listen closely and engage deeply in order to design around real life. Building trust with clients is fundamental because beyond space planning and luxury, interior design is about bringing soul into indoor environments.

Some non-design facts:

• I run a portrait photography practice and also shoot my own design projects.

• Rock concerts and flea markets give me the same level of thrill.

• I’m a movie buff whose favourite film is too inappropriate to mention.

• Love hotel bars and airports because they feel like time capsules.

• A Francophile who doesn’t speak French.

• I squeeze lemon on vanilla ice cream.

• Family is my home, no matter the interior.

If you’re new here, welcome. And if you’ve been following for a while - thank you for staying.

This year reminded me again that interiors are never just walls and objects. They hold our vulnerability, resilience, and celebrations. They witness us when no one else does.

I'm grateful for all projects that became stories, and for people who allowed me into their homes and lives.

Wishing you a season that feels true to YOU.
Whatever shape that takes. Happy Holidays!

Every time I enter the AGO, there’s a moment of wondering what kind of inner world shapes something so fearless. The choreography of lines. The architecture of a mind.

Farewell, maestro Frank Gehry. Thank you for deconstructing the stagnant perception.

Site visit. Kitchen in progress.
Soft hum of work, sawdust in the air,
and the feeling of something almost ready - my favourite stage.

I haven’t taken you vintage shopping with me in a while.
While in Orangeville, Ontario, I stopped by Past Glories of Toad Hollow - antiques and nostalgia.

Among my favourite finds:

• Early 20th century to late 50s kettles
• Hand printed calendar from Nepal (in my birth year!)
• Fun ceramic napkin rings
• Jean Cocteau book of drawings
• Rare Rikaro art glass from Bohemia
• Neoclassical inspired chandelier
• Mole-Richardson motion picture light

… and more!
What do you think I bought from the list above?

Lawrence Park Project
•••••••
Modern design is often labeled as sterile, neutral, even cold but it doesn't have to be. This project is a great example of how layered rhythm and intention bring warmth to a space without shifting its style direction.

Matte leather finishes, grasscloth walls, and textured area rugs balance out the marble and metal elements, all while staying true to the core principles of modern design: functionality, simplicity, and flow.

Curated artwork by Canadian artists - Chris Albert and Stephanie Fehrenbach, (selected after an intensive sourcing process), set against the pronounced structure of wall panels, brought the entire family onto the same page and we wrapped up with a subtle splash of colour.

Each project is a journey, and I'm always grateful to clients who trust the process and allow the vision to unfold.

Character-Filled Dining Room.
A room’s atmospheric design is more than just furniture and accessories - it’s a feeling. A feeling shaped by what you love, what you remember, and what you dream of. To express all of that in an interior, one must be willing to step outside the box (under my careful artistic guidance and renovation supervision!) blending cherished pieces with new finds, adding layers, mixing patterns, injecting colour, and most importantly, revealing personality.

That’s exactly what the brave owners of this home did, and for that, I am forever grateful.

While this space aligns with today’s biggest interior design trend - maximalism, it is, ironically, timeless. It echoes the charm of remote European abodes, hidden coastal galleries, and rays of sunlight slipping through ancient tree crowns on your slow drive toward new memories.

Pro Tip: check out the “before and after” at the end of this album to see how a beautiful chair with great bones can be reupholstered and given a whole new life.

Family Home Remodel
•••••••
This project is especially meaningful because designing for your own family brings not only excitement and great sentiment but also a heightened sense of responsibility and a drive for perfection.

The renovation involved many tasks, including completely gutting the first floor of an older home, integrating a sleek contemporary kitchen, and seamlessly incorporating previously owned extravagant furniture and accessories.

When faced with such challenges, I rely on design techniques that help unify the space while staying within budget - bold paint accents, cohesive fixture finishes, and repeated geometric details. We transformed an unoriginal house into a bespoke, elegant and inviting home.

The dining room’s black ceiling is everyone’s favourite feature, which, contrary to common belief, enhances its height and adds a striking touch.

A special thank you to my very talented mom for trusting in my vision and expertise. We are the best team!
