A sculptural piece with a minimalist expression, the solid yet lightweight construction retains all the hallmarks of its predecessors, while adding laid-back comfort to the collection. Set on a solid wood frame, the upholstered shell with gently curved sides and an angled backrest retains the sense of being cradled and supported, while inviting complete relaxation.

The new Harbour Lounge Chair has the minimalist expression as its predecessors. Resting on a solid wood frame, offered in natural, dark stained or black oak and walnut, its embracing shell is available upholstered in a range of tactile yet durable fabrics in contemporary colorways. The low-pitched frame features rounded legs and subtle joinery details, and the generous shell has a wide back, angled for comfort and supporting the body while providing space to relax. Let your home decoration take flight with the Shorebirds a range of solid oak figures with a stylized yet spirited expression.

The Icelandic designer Sigurjon Palsson has created a range of characterful wooden birds. The Shorebirds are turned from solid oak and their simple unadorned silhouette gives them an almost stylized expression. At the same time, a great deal of care has been paid to the small details such as variations in body thicknesses, neck length, and the positioning of the legs and beak. This gives all three birds their own unique personality and allows the design to come alive.

The largest of the three birds is inspired by the curlew, with its long neck and distinguished, downwardly bent beak. It is an aristocratic creature. Its long legs take slow, well-considered steps while looking cautiously around. The middle-sized bird is alert and active like a redshank. This elegant bird is often to be found with other wading birds. Finally, we have the sandpiper; a sociable little bird, often to be found in large flocks.

Place the large Shorebird on a shelf, sideboard, or dresser where it can proudly stand side by side with your vases and other decorative items. The two sociable, smaller birds are ideal for placing in groups, where the combination of their different sizes and colors create a stylish and playful effect.

The VK-1 rug by Vibeke Klint is a study in restraint, geometry and lasting function.

Originally developed in response to Arne Jacobsen’s design for the Danish National Bank in Copenhagen, the pattern reflects the building’s quiet rigor and functionalist language. As with much of Klint’s work, the design is deeply connected to the architecture it was created to live within, in this case, a minimalist composition built from a simple square motif placed at the corner.

Now reissued by NORDICMODERN in close collaboration with the Klint family, the VK-1 brings one of Vibeke Klint’s original designs back into contemporary interiors with the same clarity and purpose.

Woven from 80% New Zealand wool and 20% linen, it is reversible, durable and naturally resistant to stains thanks to its high lanolin content. Finished in natural white with a black pattern and burnt orange square detail, it is a piece that feels both architectural and timeless.
