In Midtown Toronto, this homeowner wanted something soft, simple and classic. She’s always enjoyed woodworking as a personal hobby, so when she came to Bloomsbury, she already had a real appreciation for craftsmanship and the details behind how something is made.

In collaboration with , we designed tailored cabinetry for several rooms throughout the home, carefully connecting each space to the architecture and overall feeling of the house. The result is calm, timeless and easy to live with.

For us, the way something is made has always mattered just as much as the way it looks. There’s a certain pride that comes from standing back at the end of a project and knowing it was done properly. We take the extra time to get the details right, rework something when it doesn’t meet our standards, and care about the parts most people may never even notice. It may be the harder way, but the satisfaction that comes from seeing the finished work done authentically makes it all worthwhile. We believe the materials behind a kitchen matter just as much as the way it looks.

We use materials with longevity, craftsmanship and your family in mind. Solid wood gives our cabinetry the strength and character to last for generations, reducing the need for replacement. Formaldehyde-free, soy-based glue offers a healthier alternative to traditional adhesives. And our VOC-free, water-based paints and stains are fully cured in our shop, so they arrive in your home beautifully finished without lingering chemical fumes.

One of the defining features of a traditional English kitchen is the furniture-style fridge.

Before today's fitted kitchens became common, kitchens were furnished with freestanding pieces like dressers, cupboards, and armoires to store items in. As kitchen design evolved over time, English designers continued the tradition by housing fridges in furniture-style cabinetry, carrying on the tradition. It's designed to standout proudly on its own, wrapped in elaborate millwork so it feels more like a beautiful antique armoire rather than an appliance. It's the opposite of hidden, yet somehow makes the fridge disappear altogether.

We love this style because it honours a centuries-old tradition while adding warmth, personality, and a touch of history to the heart of the home🩶
