living in a hard loft without overhead lighting forced me to think more intentionally about how a space feels at different times of the day. over time, I ended up leaning heavily into layered and diffused lighting, instead of relying on brightness alone.

most of the lamps in here are less about functionality and more about creating atmosphere, especially during the daytime when natural light is already enough. smart bulbs also made a huge difference for me, being able to adjust warmth and intensity completely changes the mood of the space depending on the hour.

i’m also pretty sensitive to harsh lighting, so softer indirect light has always felt more comfortable and calming to live with. I hope you enjoyed my curated space — YBL

Govee Lantern Floor Lamp ended up fitting into the loft more naturally than I expected. As you all know, I’m very particular about lighting, and this added a surprising amount of warmth and atmosphere to my second floor reading nook.
