When I lead glass workshops, I always make a piece alongside students, usually a bird, where I can demonstrate what I’m teaching. Lately I’ve started teaching class by making a brain, not because it’s almost Halloween (but it helps to be topical!) rather as my own little homage to humans amid all this noise about robots and AI. The human brain is only about three pounds and yet the main hub of how we human. What a truly incredible organ! All this to say, I used my brain to make some brains and they’re in the shop now! 🧠
