My name is Amanda DeShane, but in the art world I’m known as Mandi_artist. I’m a Canadian artist/ illustrator who graduated from Emily Carr University with my illustration certificate in 2025.
I’m known most for my wide range of art styles. In the beginning of my art career this actually caused me issues and I was often accused of using AI. I assure you everything is hand drawn and painted digitally. As an artist with ADHD I get bored easily, so I style hop often, enjoying the challenge to master a new skill. I also naturally don’t deal with boredom very well. So, I’m a bit of a powerhouse when I hyper focus like a boss sometimes pushing out up to sixty or more fabric designs a day. I absolutely love painting and drawing patterns. It’s a passion. I started building my Spoonflower shop two years ago. I knew very little about style, design, or how to market my work. It takes years for a surface pattern designer to build a reputation and following. Success is built one step at a time. For years I refused to make a Fabric page in fear that the algorithm would work against me. Instead I grew my Instagram Page and did well. Once sales started coming in, customers started asking for direct links. And well that brought me full circle back to the dreaded idea of building a page following since Facebook allows website links in the post and instagram doesn’t. So, seeing that it would make things easier for my followers/customers I jumped right in and tackled it.
Big Thanks to everyone who has followed my art career as it’s been steadily growing over the last few years. I appreciate you all and I look forward to designing a lot of fabric, wallpaper, and home decor designs.
