Our story:
In one of the quiet and serene parts rested is this Dyke, trailing along the bank of river in Richmond, in one of the world’s beautiful island city, Vancouver, British Columbia. On one stormy evening of pouring rains, amidst wildly swaying trees, over a steaming cup of ‘chai’, the venture of Canada’s very own online store was incepted.
‘Cutting Chai’ is a South Asian Lingo, originated
in Mumbai city, used for tea which, while served, is neither half nor full in a glass. The quantity of cutting-chai is meant to be just perfect! The ‘Cutting’ part is a social annotation for the said chai, which is best, when shared with friends, colleagues, associates, anyone and everyone. In local flavour, office executives, CEOs, subordinates, friends, urban, rural, mighty and meek; people from all walks of life bow to the power of cutting chai. The term is more abstract than the tea in itself. It’s about sharing when it comes to cutting-chai. We would say, it's the only thing that bridges gap between the social economies. CuttingChai.ca is created to share work of cultures, diversity and varied distinctions. We want to present the work of ‘hands’ more than machines. The effort is to offer handcrafted and hand-made things, with all its human imperfections but detailed uniqueness, rare work of art, reflecting the spirit of maker to add shine on its embracer.
