The thing about being an Interior Designer is that I can never walk into a space without studying it.

I recently spent some time in the atrium at Vancouver Centre II and Scotia Tower, and it was a great reminder of how thoughtful design shapes the way we experience a space.

A few things that stood out to me:

• Warm wood finishes that soften the scale of the architecture and make the space feel more inviting.

• A living green wall that brings texture, life, and a strong connection to nature.

• Layered lighting that feels warm and welcoming without drawing attention to itself.

• Comfortable lounge-style seating that encourages people to gather, work, or simply pause for a moment.

What I appreciated most was the restraint. The palette is simple—wood, stone, greenery, and warm neutrals—but every element feels intentional.

It’s a good reminder that great design isn’t always about adding more. Often, it’s about making thoughtful choices and executing them well.

Every home has spaces with untapped potential.

This area beside the kitchen was once used as a playroom, but over time it became an undefined catch-all space without a clear purpose or sense of connection to the rest of the home.

With thoughtful styling and intentional furniture placement, it will be transformed into a quiet retreat layered with warmth, texture, and functionality — a place for conversation, reading, morning coffee, or simply slowing down.

These are often the spaces that make a home feel truly memorable.

Interior design isn’t just about decorating. It’s about creating flow, purpose, and lifestyle moments that help people emotionally connect to a space and envision themselves living there.
