What colour does to your space...
RED - energy, passion, danger; demands attention; great for front door, kitchen and dining
ORANGE - warm, inviting, creative and symbol of strength; home choices from terra cotta to soft peach; bathroom (flatters any skin tone)
YELLOW - happiness; energy; intelligence; great in foyers, entries; careful - too bright is harsh.
GREEN - healing, calm, stable and safe; great with wood tones; use in any room.
BLUE - sea and sky; tranquility, loyalty and authority; suppresses appetite; lowers heart rate; relaxing; great for bedrooms.
PURPLE/VIOLET - royalty, power, wealth and luxury; either love it or hate it; use as an accent or in shades of grey; can be warm (more red) or cool (more blue).
WHITE - clean, pure, cool and fresh; contains all colour (think prism); popular in bathrooms; too much can make a space cold and sterile.
BLACK - absence of colour; power, formality; careful - too much can make a space feel evil and fearful; all rooms can use black accents to anchor or ground the space.
GREY - a neutral that says stable, mature, secure, dependable and restful; a colour of friendship; too much could be cold, dull and dreary; use more silver tones to add energy.
BROWN - the other neutral; colour of the earth; dependable, warm and comfort; great for accents, but usually a lot of brown already in place in the wood of furniture, floors, stones and bricks.
