I find these trays with styrofoam inserts work amazingly well for transporting bud vases.
I will leave them at the venue after delivery and set up for the couple or planner to pack the vases in again at the end of the night; making tear down and return of the vases easy-peasy!
Supplies:
Trays - I got mine at the dollar store but I’m sure you could order something similar online. I wanted to make sure they could fit a dozen vases in each one
Styrofoam - I bought these large sheets at Home Depot, in a pack of 5 which was plenty. I had more than enough to make a dozen tray inserts. You could even use the extras to create another set of inserts with different sized holes if you have multiple sized vases.
Styrofoam cutter - I bought mine at Michael’s but you can so find them online. You have to be patient, the cutting in the video is sped up a bit, you have to let the hot wire kind of guide your cutting speed, you can’t force it too much. Make sure to do it somewhere well ventilated, the melting styrofoam smells a little toxic 😷
Circle template:
I found this was more helpful than trying to cut using a circle I traced onto the foam. It helps you guide the cutter, as well as space out your holes. I used my Cricut to make a template with cardstock. But you could also trace circles on to a sheet of cardstock and cut out with an x-acto knife.
Optional labeling - I used my Cricut to make vinyl lettering so the trays were labeled with my business name and phone number and noting “please return bud vases in trays” - cause you never can make things too clear, haha! You could also just use packing tape to tape on/laminate a little sign or hand write in sharpie or something.
