Very excited to be doing my first artists talk with Amelia Douglas Institute and Métis Nation BC tonight at 5 PM PST on Zoom speaking about my gender and orientation affirming regalia! This webinar is open to all but you do need to register (details found on the AMI Instagram). Beading, sewing, and leather and fur work - all techniques that I have applied to imagine new and reimagine traditional practice. Affirming our identities through regalia is medicine for everyone, even cisgender and heterosexual people deserve the space to reflect on who they are and how to celebrate themselves through regalia. My work is focused on tastawiyiniwak / Two-Spirit / q***r and trans identities but thus talk has a lot of concepts that can inspire everyone to do their own self-love and recognition work through the creation and wearing of affirming regalia. I'd love to see you there!
