Currently sitting on the floor of my new home & having a moment to reflect. Cause tis the time of year when I celebrate this lil business of mine. Cheers to the last SIX years that got me here. Behind each of these photos is a year full of growing pains & gains.
Back in 2020 I was an unexpectedly unemployed travel agent who was flipping furniture and trying to figure out ways to be creative full time. It was our first summer living by the beach.
Spring of 2021 marked my first year in business when I was accepted into the starter program. I created my first mural and got busy painting commissions. I also started taking care of aging family in the city between art camps.
In 2022 I finished off my first year teaching art (online) in our local schools with . I found myself in the deep end of caregiving while I painted windows and got married.
2023 brought bigger murals projects and more personal artwork. I managed to move my family into a retirment home while hosting art camps and workshops.
In summer of 2024 I began plein air painting & set up the largest kids art show at the . I dealt with hospice care and doctors in between live painting events.
In 2025 I was renting a studio space . The kids artwork was displayed at 3! local libraries. I was processing loss & feeling lost while I taught private lessons.
Currently, my art supplies is packed in boxes. Kids artwork is hung all around Georgian Bay. My work is displayed at the Press Room Gallery. I started working part time at the local paint store. I'm caretaking for one while my husband & I lay flooring in our very own home, a block from the beach. New studio is a WIP.
Celebrating the unexpected, the changing circumstances, and the moving goal posts. It's all been such a beautiful mess & I wouldn't change a thing. I'm very grateful for this colourful life we've built by the beach.
Thanking you for the support throughout this journey. 🫶
