Story time!
I have wanted a sign on my barn for as long as I can remember.
Here she is. I made her, all by myself, from a thick piece of plywood salvaged from my dads barn.
For a brief moment, I thought about having a logo made, designed, you know, the way most businesses do..then I thought about the what and the how and the way I hoped you'd feel when you saw it. The way I'd feel creating it.
There was no other way.
After the cutting and the sanding, came the pink paint! A custom mixed color from two of my favorites used throughout the house. Then I grabbed my big ol' pruners and headed out to fogage some branches. I used maple, pine, mulberry and honey locust.
She reminded me of a camp sign. And it made me smile. It took a long while, days, for me to settle on my design but my goodness when I did? The wee pebbles for the rays? From all my beach frolics? The Sun? The shimmering gold paint? All of it. The scalloped edging in the most fun turquoise? I'm feeling the excitement as I write this, because it was that good.
Yes!!!! That is how I want y'all to feel when you come here, when you create here, when you see my crafts, all of it, feeling.
There is a trend going on, flyers, logos, adds, and they all look the same. It is disheartening. Y'all are loosing your uniqueness, giving away what makes you special, and I don't want to take part in that. We are all rare. Real. Walking, breathing, feeling, inventive and imaginative creatures.
Alive.
That is how I want you to feel around me♡
What do you think of my handmade sign? Do you love it?
♡ I have 3 spots left for my butterfly workshop this Sunday at 2pm. Message me. Come unwind. Sip tea. Create. Unplug. Breathe in the wild scents and sounds of the gardens.
