The designer was determined to bring the historical home in Whitby, Ont., built in 1855, back to its former glory.

Many of you know that I bought a small historical house in downtown Whitby two and half years ago. I knew the moment I stepped foot on the property that I was called to bring it back to life. The journey of creating and collaborating with the people who offered their wisdom and craft to help bring my vision to life was the most magical experience ever. The process was like a dream, a perfectly slow unfolding of decisions and I savored every moment of it. You have all been so very patient to see the final photos, as I have kept quiet about the end result.
Here it is, the moment we have been waiting for, the Little House is now published in my favourite Canadian magazine and you get to take a peek inside. It is so very exciting! I hope you pick up a copy and I sincerely look forward to hearing your thoughts.

I’d like to extend a huge thank you to for this very special feature.
To my brilliant friends for letting the home’s soul shine through these stunning images.
To my talented contractor , to Louie at .kitchens.inc Renata at Sophia at Sean and Myriam at . They are the pillars I leaned on for this project. 😘 With gratitude, Orsi

Browsing through all the photos and videos of 2023 has made me realize how much we forget. Wow, what an amazing, full year! Lots of beautiful projects with lovely clients, new memories with family and friends, travel, adventures, broken foot and at the very end an unimaginable loss of a treasured family member.
My everyday reading has been Eckhart Tolle’s work, learning to be truly present and appreciating the NOW as it is. Unexpected loss will make you do a double take at life and realize that we only have this very moment. There is no guarantee for anything, no matter how old we are. So my wish for us all is that we live every day of the coming year being present, in gratitude, creativity and love.
Happy new year! Xoxo Orsi
