As another Christmas season ends, we want to say, THANK YOU to our incredible neighbours who gracefully tolerate the flashing lights and maneuvering around cars that are stopping to watch our light show.
As well as THANKS to our community members who stop by and watch the show throughout the month.

It started out in 2018 when we took our 7 year old daughter to see the Allan Family Light Show in Regina. Which she thought was so amazing. My husband said "that is super cool I bet I could do that!" To which I replied something like "Haha yeah right!" Which he most definitely took as a challenge to prove me wrong.

By Christmas the following year we had our first light show going on our house. He spent the year learning how and teaching me.

So this hobby, which started as a just a few lights on the house has evolved and grown bit by bit every year. And although the lights may be dark outside, inside the preparations are already beginning for Christmas 2026!

New Year's eve will be our final night for 2025. I will be switching it up to some upbeat music for New Year's Eve! And because I have Stranger Things daughter excited for the finale I have put in a "Stranger Things" sequence as well.
We will start the light show at 5 and it will go off shortly after midnight.

We are going to keep the lights off tonight, with the wind speeds we have had to lay some of the props down and secure them. Travel safe, stay warm. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day!

Tis the season for Christmas Lights!

Daka Family Lights is up and running for another festive season.

3 Churchill Crescent in White City nightly from 6-10.

As a teacher and a parent I decided this year we needed the perfect song for the Christmas season so I wrote some lyrics and used AI to create the music and voices. If you know you know... 😉!

Cold weather and technology don't mix well sometimes. We are working on some glitches tonight. Our apologies if you drive by and it is off. We are trying to get things working. So may have to start or restart as we check things out.

Well tonight is the last night of the light show! The neighbours are likely excited for the break from the flashing lights. If you were able to come out and enjoy our light show please give this post a like.
Just because the lights stop flashing, preparation has already began for next December,
so Daka Family Lights will see you again in 11 short months!

Switched up the Daka Family Lights lightshow tonight and tomorrow night to a Taylor Swift Medley and Auld Lang Syne for the special Swiftie in our House. It is 12 minutes long. If you also have a Swiftie in your house, bring her by to "shake off" 2024.
Tonight's sequence will run until 12:30 a.m on 95.1 FM
