Taking a little time to reset. 🤍

Things have been pretty quiet lately, so it feels like the right time to take a short break, slow down, get caught up, and enjoy the last bit of summer before jumping back in.

The shop will be closed August 21–September 7 and reopening Tuesday, September 8.

Thank you so much for your support and understanding. See you soon!

Well… if today wasn’t a sign to take a little break, I don’t know what is. 🥛😂

After a week that felt like A LOT, I opened the back of my Jeep this morning and a jug of milk launched itself out and exploded all over me. Head to toe. My car, my clothes, my hair… everything. 🤦‍♀️😅

I stayed open until 2 today, but I’ve decided to take tomorrow off, and we’ll also be closed Saturday to spend some much-needed time with family and recharge over the long weekend.

Thank you so much for your understanding and for always supporting our little shop. ❤️

We’ll be back Tuesday with our regular hours:
☕ Tuesday–Friday: 11–4
☕ Saturday: 11–2

Have a safe and wonderful long weekend! See you next week! 👋

If these walls could talk… 🤍

They’d tell stories.

Stories of first dates that turned into relationships.

Of surprise pregnancy announcements shared over coffee.

Of business dreams sketched on napkins.

Of friends who hadn’t seen each other in years.

Of grandparents treating their grandkids after school.

Of exhausted parents needing five quiet minutes.

Of tears that couldn’t wait until someone got home.

Of hugs and tears after a difficult diagnoses.

Of conversations about loss.

Of hope.

Of healing.

Of laughter so loud the whole shop joined in.

I’ve had the privilege of hearing some of the happiest moments in people’s lives… and some of the hardest.

Sometimes all someone needs is a warm drink, a safe place to sit, and another human willing to listen.

That’s why I don’t think The Shop has ever really been just about clothes or coffee.

It’s always been about people.

And honestly…

That’s something I’ll never take for granted.

🤍🥹

If you’ve had a beautiful moment here, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

There’s something about sitting in nature with a coffee in hand that makes everything a little clearer.

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about The Shop.

Truthfully, I don’t think it’s ever really been just about clothes or coffee.

It’s always been about creating a place where people feel welcome. 🤍 A place to slow down, connect, discover something local, and maybe leave feeling just a little better than when they walked in.

Some of my best ideas have come while sitting exactly here, listening to the river, the birds, and my kids playing nearby. 🌿

I think I’m finally seeing the bigger picture.

Over the next little while, you’ll probably notice some changes—not because The Shop is becoming something completely different, but because it’s becoming more intentional.

☕ More coffee.
🌲 More local.
🧭 More adventure.
📖 More stories.
🤍 More community.

I want The Shop to become a place people are genuinely happy they stopped at—whether you’re a lifelong local or just passing through Whitecourt.

Thank you for being part of this journey with me. I have a feeling the best is still ahead. ✨

Start Here. ☕🤍

Lately, I’ve been a little quieter.

You may have noticed that I haven’t been at every small business evening event, every market, or every community gathering lately. The truth is, life outside these four walls has been very full.

If you’ve ever wondered where I’ve been lately, my calendar probably tells the story better than I can.

Between three kids in baseball, helping coach, practices, games, tournaments, travelling, spending four or more evenings a week at the ball fields, and somehow fitting in photography sessions between all this rain, my schedule looks a little FULL these days.

Behind this business is just one person wearing many, many hats.

I’m a business owner, photographer, store operator, barista, marketer, bookkeeper, cleaner, social media manager, volunteer coach, event planner, and most importantly, a mom.

When I opened this business, I did it with one goal in mind: to create a life that allowed me to be present for my children. That means some seasons look different than others. Sometimes the shop gets my full attention, and sometimes my kids need more of me.

But when it comes down to it, my children will always come first.

Do I love this business? Absolutely. It has given me so much, taught me many lessons, introduced me to incredible people, and allowed me to create and build something I’m incredibly proud of. But it was never meant to replace my family — it was meant to support it.

Running a small business in a small town also means constantly trying to stay creative to stay relevant — dreaming up new ideas, creating new drinks, menus, experiences, and finding ways to offer something unique. Sometimes those ideas find their way around town a little quicker than we’d expect, and that can be discouraging. But I still believe there is room for all of us to create, to grow, and to do things in our own way.

We are real humans behind small businesses. We all carry things that others may never see. We experience hard seasons, disappointments, struggles, family commitments, and challenges outside of our storefronts. We carry those things while still showing up every day and serving a smile.

Words matter. Kindness matters. Grace matters.

Supporting small businesses doesn’t always mean attending every event or showing up everywhere all at once. Sometimes it looks like coaching a team, spending evenings at the ball diamonds, collecting bottles with your kids, supporting quietly behind the scenes, or simply raising good humans.

Running a business while raising a family means making hard choices. There are only so many hours in a day, and while I would love to be everywhere and support everyone, this season of life belongs heavily to my children.

One day there will be fewer practices and games, but these years are short, and I don’t want to miss them.

And honestly, finding the right balance is one of the hardest things for me personally. Sometimes that means being up at 5:00 a.m. creating social media posts before the kids wake up. Sometimes it means losing sleep, working around the clock, and doing whatever it takes to make it all work.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support this little dream, whether that’s by grabbing a drink, finding a new outfit, booking a session, liking a post, or simply stopping in to say hello.

For me, community isn’t measured by how many events you attend. Sometimes it’s measured by the people you’re raising, the time you give, the kindness you show, and simply doing your best to support others while balancing your own life.

I’ll try to share more of these moments from now on because I wholeheartedly believe that honesty, integrity, and being open about the realities of life and business are what make us real. Life isn’t always perfectly curated, and neither is small business.

The people who lead with kindness, authenticity, and grace are exactly the kinds of people and businesses I’m drawn to supporting in our community.

So for now, you’ll likely find me in a lawn chair on the sidelines — most likely in the rain — out on the diamonds teaching the kiddos, camera in hand, exactly where I want to be until this season winds down.

It’s been a busy spring but baseball season is slowly coming to an end over the next few weeks, and while the calendar may eventually quiet down a little, before we know it… the next sport will start!

Cheers to all the parents who are hustling, working, volunteering and doing this on the daily, we see you! While we may be tired, stressed, and highly caffeinated, these years with our kids are the ones that we will cherish the most.

… Maybe that’s why I decided to become a local caffeine dealer. 😉☕️🤪🤍⚾️🏒
