Louie came to me at my first craft fair Nov 2012. A little girl and her dad came to my table to try on some wool beanies. I think she tried on every one I had & finally picked one her dad bought for her. About an hour after they left another customer asked me who my little sheep friend was. Turned out she left him snuggled up with all the scarves. I searched the room looking for her, I posted the little sheep's picture on facebook asking if anyone knew who he belonged to as I am sure she was very lonely with out him. You could tell this little sheep was very well loved. So I continued bringing this sheep to all my art shows in search of this little girl. When the new year came along I knew my company needed a name. Since this sheep had been my mascot for the past few months, why not name it after him. After all he is a Stray sheep....

We are having a fun time meeting everyone at the shows and enjoying the adventure together. Louie inspires me to create warm merino wool items for everyone. I love to create new designs and colours. I can make any colour you would like. Just contact me and we can create something you will love. Its the material that makes these so special. I use merino wool, alpaca, and super soft acrylic from all over the world, Turkey, Australia and NZ. Contact me and we can make arrangements to see current items for sale.

Meanwhile… while I’m over here in Lukla, Nepal, soaking up the mountains, culture and very good food, real life is waiting for me back home. 😂🏔️

In just a few days I’ll be heading back to Kathmandu, then home — and straight into fall market season!

I’ve actually been preparing for this all year. I’ve been making, making, making for fall and winter, and these are the only two events I’ll be doing this year:

🍂 October 8–12 — Balls Falls Thanksgiving Festival
📍 Lincoln, Ontario
Over 100 makers in the most beautiful fall setting. If you’re in the Niagara/Lincoln area, come spend the day with us!

🌲 October 17–18 — Art at the Otentiks
📍 Point Pelee National Park
A whole bunch of makers spending the weekend set up right in the forest of our national park.

And yes… I’ll be bringing all the cozy things. ❤️

So while I’m currently wandering around Nepal trying to convince myself that the mountains really are behind all those clouds 😂, I’ll be home soon, surrounded by wool and getting ready for the best season of the year.

These guys are AMAZING! ❤️

My Sherpa is carrying 88 lbs up a mountain like it’s nothing… and I’m over here completely out of breath trying to keep up. 😂

Seriously though — the strength, kindness and hard work these guys put in is incredible. 🇳🇵🏔️

Day 7 update! 🥾⛰️

If you’ve been wondering where we disappeared to… we’re okay! 😂❤️

Our last update was Day 4 in Namche on our acclimatization day, and let’s just say A LOT has happened since then. The itinerary definitely did not go according to plan, but we’re still hiking, still (kinda) smiling, and now heading down in elevation back the way we came — which feels good.

We’ve got 2 more days of walking in the rain to get to Lukla and I can confidently say that every part of my soul was wet today. 😂🌧️

From Lukla, we’re hopefully catching our flight back to Kathmandu. ✈️🤞

There’s a LOT to catch you up on, so stay tuned for the full story. For now: we’re safe, we’re okay, and we’ve got some stories to tell. ❤️🇳🇵

And yes… there are definitely some lessons to be learned about hiking in Nepal. 😂

Day 3 of waiting… and we finally got out of Kathmandu! 🏔️🚁

We rushed to the airport to catch one of the first helicopters out to Lukla. The weather window was closing, and somehow… we made it! 🙌

Well… almost to Lukla. 😂

We landed in Surke at 2,300 m, which meant an extra 2 hours of hiking added to our day. But honestly, after three days of waiting, we were just thrilled to finally be walking. 🥾

⬆️ 800+ m elevation gain
🍋🫚🍯 4 lemon, ginger & honey teas — and counting!

First night we stayed in Phakding at 2,610 m, with a HOT SHOWER 🚿 and another lemon/ginger/honey tea. 🫚🍋🍯

Bed by 9 PM. 😴

After all the waiting, cancelled flights due to weather, changing plans and wondering if we’d even make it here… we’re finally on the trail.

And it feels SO good. ❤️🏔️

The attempt to fly to Lukla. ✈️🚁

One of the realities of trekking in Nepal is that sometimes, just getting to the mountains is an adventure of its own.

We’ve been waiting, watching the weather, changing plans and trying to get to Lukla. Flights haven’t operated for three days, and now we’re sitting in Kathmandu airport waiting for a helicopter.

The logistics of getting into the Everest region definitely add another layer to the adventure — and, when flights aren’t going, the cost of getting there can change quickly.

But we can’t delay much longer. Every day we wait means another day of our trek lost.

So now we wait… and hope our helicopter gets a window to take us into the mountains.

It’s been a process. A little frustrating. A lot of anticipation.

But we know what’s waiting on the other side — massive mountains, quiet trails, turquoise lakes, and the kind of landscape you can’t really understand until you’re standing in it.

We’re almost there. 🏔️❤️
