Old friend from university shared this post and asked others to help and/or share as well. They got one of their Guinea pigs from this rescue and speak highly of them as a reputable and compassionate organization; one that is not equipped to handle this massive influx of animals in need right now and requires help to ensure the health and safety of the piggies they have and the new ones on the way.

If you’re able to make a donation, buy them something from their wishlist, or you’re close enough to foster, please consider it, and even if none of those are possible, share this post so others who might be able to help in more concrete ways learn of the situation

Its 2am and I’m still at the shop… not even close to being ready to open at noon… the quick facelift to the store is taking just a bit longer than anticipated, but it’s looking awesome in here; unfortunately that means we won’t be reopening today and will reopen Saturday morning instead

We will be closing a bit early on Saturday to attend the Vintage & Vinyl event at Walkerville Brewery and hope to see you both at the store and brewery this weekend

The troubled saga of our time on Pelissier reached an unfortunate conclusion early this morning and, as of 2:30 this morning, we have vacated the premises at 419 Pelissier after we were served with notice last week that the locks would be changed today

We asked that the same patience be returned as we extended to them through the repair process while our loss of income insurance claim is still being finalized, but they were unwilling to wait. Although they were required to complete repairs within two months, we patiently waited for over seven months and were told during that time that any delays were the result of the building owner waiting for approval from their insurance

We believed that they had chosen to extend the same courtesy to us as we had extended them and were shocked to receive the notice last week

In the end we remained closed from Christmas Day until reopening the second week after Labour Day, with minimal income during that period.

We removed our property from the affected area within the first days of January, to allow unobstructed access to the space for them to complete cleanup and repairs but it was late April before they did anything about that, as wet & moldy carpets, ceiling tiles, and drywall sat for four months

We had to seal off the affected area and block the vents in front ourselves to prevent contaminating the rest of the store while waiting. Once everything was finally removed, it took nearly two more months for repairs to begin. We weren’t able to use the affected area again until August and an additional six weeks of work were needed for us to get the retail space back to a state suitable for customers. We finally reopened in September and are now closed again

Announcements will be made soon with updates on the future of both & but we won’t be discussing the details of the above situation further right now as both parties have retained legal counsel to resolve matters.

Rest assured, we will get through this just as we have gotten through every other obstacle we’ve faced so far and you can be certain there will be positive news very soon

Hey all! With the end of the market for the season, the change of the weather, and the shortening days, we’ve decided to make some changes to our hours for the fall.

We’re going to be closed on Tuesdays to do some behind the scenes stuff and staying open late on Wednesday to give some of our fans on the 9-5 grind a chance to make it down to & on a weekday to get refills or a new outfit.

This fall spend your Saturdays checking out all of the great shops, bars and restaurants has to offer and visit our friends at

After four months, we miss your faces and interacting with you so we’re setting up as vendors at the starting this Saturday April 29th

Both brands will be there with and representing the vendors from this week and, as I detailed in my last post, we’re clearing out some products we won’t be carrying anymore and will have a selection of those products as well.

Although we still can’t have anyone in the store, I will be able to run in to fulfill any requests for products (including refills) that we may not have outside but do have in stock; please feel free to ask if you need anything and if you know you have a specific request, send me a message and I’ll prepare it in advance for pick up

As mentioned, it has been four months (to the day) since the pipes burst in the ceiling and I hoped that we’d be able to share the update regarding the rebranding of Emerson Supply Co to The Refillery at the same time as the reopening date of the stores but the companies involved have been slammed with similar situations and they only just started this past weekend so it’s unclear still when the work will be done and we will be able to open.

We’re excited to be able to take this small step toward a new normal now that work has progressed enough that I’m able to access most of the products that have been packed away since Christmas and make new products in anticipation of reopening; hopefully there will be updates and announcements more frequently now leading up to reopening and I can’t wait to show you all of the changes we’ve made during our time away!

Hope to see you out on Pelissier this Saturday for the Downtown Windsor Farmer’s Market; please stop by and say hi even if you don’t need anything because we’d love to see your faces

WE’RE REBRANDING!!! 💚💚💚
When we’re able to reopen (more on that soon) the shop will become The Refillery to better reflect who we are after five years

You may notice we kept Supply Co as part of our username; I made this decision to maintain a connection to the brand’s origins, as well as keeping the EmersonClean name, but we quite like the short version, so welcome to The Refillery (formerly Emerson Supply Co)

This rebrand isn’t really a change, but rather an acknowledgment that, after trying out different paths, we’ve allowed our community of customers to help us evolve and the resulting brand is focused on the actual needs of those people; you!

The products you’ve demonstrated that you want are high quality & effective, ethical & sustainable essentials; cleaning products/tools and skin/hair care products, refillable and package-free when possible. The store will now focus on that core by eliminating new “non-essential lifestyle” items and making it easier for you to access ethical and sustainable options for the products you use the most often

Over-consumption is a huge problem so we are focusing on these core essentials in the spirit of conscious consumption. Acknowledging that many of the “non-essential” items that we are eliminating are neither harmful nor unnecessary, and do add value, we believe that the purchase of any new item should be a conscious decision, not an impulse, and we want to eliminate our involvement in that by no longer carrying those products

With that, we do need to find new homes for the products already in store so those resources don’t go to waste. All remaining stock will be cleared out at a reduced price that honours what went into producing a quality sustainable item. Check out our next post for more about how we’re doing that

There will be more updates soon, but don’t worry, we’re not going anywhere and we’ll actually be adding a more diverse selection of household essentials, including an expansion of our household cleaning and Skin & Hair Care lines

With the return of the many people are just learning about the flood we had in the store on Christmas Day, and many more people expecting that we’d be open again by now, may be surprised to learn that the stores are still closed after over three months.

Rest assured that, after lengthy delays dealing with multiple insurance companies, work is being done and we are confident the stores will be back soon, better than ever. Lots of exciting updates, changes, and other announcements about the future of & on Pelissier will be coming in the near future but we can confidently say that we’re not going anywhere and you will be able to get your refills, sustainable home & clothing items again soon and for a while to come
