Selim's Antiques Selim’s Antiques has been in business for over 60 years and at 801 Corydon since 1977. Selim Aysan began this journey a world away in Türkei. at a profit.

We have the finest selection of estate jewellery, sterling silver, antiques Persian rugs, and fine art in Western Canada. Growing up he displayed an innate talent for buying and selling. Upon arriving in Canada he set out on a normal career path, working for Manitoba Highways and looking for a nice Canadian girl to settle down with. He worked hard, found Susan, they married and began their life. Not having an excess of funds he bought second hand furniture to furnish their first apartment. Buying things when the deal presented itself led to too many pieces of furniture… so he placed and ad in the paper and sold his first piece.. He thought this was pretty good… lets keep going…

Fast forward 45+ years and Selim’s Antiques is known internationally as the place to source the finest that Winnipeg has to offer. Winnipeg? Well at the turn of the century and up to the Great Depression Winnipeg was a wealthy gateway to the Canadian west and the US upper Midwest. Many fortunes were made here and the icons of the times spent their money bringing in fabulous art, furniture and decorative smalls. Within a 3 minute drive of our location you can see the magnificent homes that were built at that time. All of this planted the seeds for a vast supply of antiques today. Selim’s eldest son Dan Aysan has now taken over ownership of the antique store but Selim remains just as active as the driving force & foundation of the business.

There are times when I'm overwhelmed with the appreciation my clients feel like expressing after coming in... but wow... Matthew... that's an amazing review!! I hope I can even begin to live up to this!
edit: I wouldn't be getting reviews like these without decades of mentorship from my father. Customer satisfaction was paramount for him and it was a lesson I embraced. It's also something I learned from my years with Al's Jewellers and Toad Hall Toys back in the day.
Also... without my niece Bec and step-daughter Deja by my side these past few years I don't think I would be getting these reviews. Their amazing ability to step up has absolutely been the base of the growth my business has experienced.
Truly appreciative 🥰

STARTING TOMORROW!! We fired our daughter so we could work together 🤣

KIDDING!!

Deja has been a blessing to have at the shop for over a year and I have treasured every single moment with her but she's embarking on her own life's journey and there was no one else I would rather have at my shoulder than my wife Desiree!

It's another new era at Selim's! Come down and meet her!! 🥰

We've always offered fantastic discounts on jewellery but we need to clear some inventory. My family has bought our forever home and need to furnish it 🤣

And a family effort it is! My (step) ❤️ daughter Deja is leaving the shop as my full time left hand and my beloved wife Desiree will be taking her place later this month!!

You were entertained by the father son dynamic with Sal and I for 20 years, loved and smiled at the father daughter relationship for the last 12 months... come in and revel in a husband & wife running one of the longest running businesses on Corydon... and get unprecedented deals while you do 😁
