I’m making plans to create a crochet granny square cover for my office chair! New projects means planning. I’m trying to finish up at least one of my other projects before starting this one, but I can at least start with a (rough) sketch.

My mom taught me how to do garter stitch when I was fourteen.
I consider I the easiest stitch for beginners because it’s all knitting! Once you cast on, knit all the way through. Garter creates a nice textured fabric. What’s your go-to stitch?

Are we done talking about the Harry Styles cardigan? Cause I’m not! 🤪

While I started with more basic items, this trend was my introduction into knitting garments. I chose a more muted colour palette, but I still love the original mix of texture + colour. This thing is HUGE. Might have tried scaling it down had I known but I’m happy with it anyway.

Here’s a basic crochet chain tutorial!

Start by making a slipknot. Slip your crochet through the hoop and tighten, leaving room to ass your crochet hook through the loop. Latch onto your working yarn, twist the hook and pass it through the loop. Continue until your desired length.

It all started with a red blanket… I’m aunt Mimi and I love to knit! I started in knitting in high school but only dabbled. In 2019 I decided to restart my hobby beginning with a basic blanket. I didn’t know what I was doing and after many false starts I completed this monster in early 2020 and haven’t stopped since. Join me as I share my knits!
