Fur-Baby Fluff Transformation Have you been collecting your beloved fur-baby's fluff with the intention of making something with it? I can help you. Three plies are ideal to reduce shedding.

We've all plucked our beloved fur-baby's fuzz and imagined making something soft with it. We may desire a token to remember them by over the years, or perhaps something warm (because that fur-baby fluff is cozy warm!) to wear. I can help you to achieve that dream if you provide the fluff. Message me so we can determine the details. Services include:
*Washing the fur (optional if fur is clean)
*Ble

nding the fur with a longer fibre such as wool. This is ideal for a more versatile yarn and you will get a lot more yarn. We can also use a dyed, colourful wool for more fun and to allow the pet fluff to stand out (Optional if you have a long fur; not optional if you have a short fibre, but we can discuss the ratio.)
*Spinning a 3-ply yarn. I am an experienced knitter (and crochet) if you need help in transforming the finished yarn. I am also amenable to bartering for fluff. Fluff Collection Tip - focus on those tufts of fluff when your pet is shedding. Clippings will typically result in a scratchy yarn. Guard hairs will also be prickly. Store fluff in a paper bag.

I was in such a hurry to finish spinning the Collie chiengora for these mittens to be gifted, that I forgot to share.
I usually prefer a cable-plied yarn for chiengora to reduce shedding of the short fibres, but as the yarn was for a liner I went with the much quicker two-ply.
The dog fluff is from two different sheddings of the same dog and there is a noticeable difference. However, as it's a liner nobody will see the colour change.
I used some of the leftover chiengora with some alpaca yarn to knit a wee baby bunny.

There wasn't as much spinning on walks this summer because my kids often came with me for chats. I was happy to sneak in...
