Strawberry rattle making in Brokenhead
Ojibway Nation.
I had an amazing time with the beautiful people out there. Everyone was so welcoming and kind. I met an elder who shared with me, that my gift of creating the strawberry rattle was given to me from creator, to help keep me on my path to recovery, and now that I’m sharing it the way that I do is such a healing and beautiful thing. She shared many other beautiful teachings with me, that made me look deeper into myself, I felt a true awakening while talking with her. I’m so grateful that I crossed paths with her, and hope to see her again one day. 🍓
I also got to see Denise making her way to Brokenhead, she's running for addictions awareness, and making a statement that we need aftercare and wrap around services for our people when they leave treatment, back to their home communities.
