Spring thaw is here, and while it’s part of the season, it does bring some mobility challenges in the yard.

We’ll continue doing our best to keep up with orders and deliveries, but we appreciate your patience as conditions can change quickly.

Bunny and Yuddi are still on quality control 🐾🌲

Thank you for your continued support.

Louis Riel Day

For those who may not know, I’m Loni Jack - and my family’s roots in this region go back generations.

My great, great, great grandfather, Angus McKay, served as Member of Parliament for Marquette from 1874 to 1878 and was among the early Métis representatives in Canada’s Parliament.

My great grandparents, George Edmund McKay and Marie Louise McKay, were founding members of the Manitoba Métis Federation. Their daughter - my grandmother, Stella McKay - later served as Vice President of the MMF in the 1980s.

Today, That Firewood Place operates out of our farm yard in Woodlands - within that same historic region.

Legacy doesn’t always look political.

Sometimes it looks like stacked oak, running equipment, and making sure Manitoba families stay warm through the winter.

Proud to be Red River Métis.
Proud to build here in Woodlands.

Sometimes going the extra mile makes someone’s day.

The other day I delivered firewood to a customer who wasn’t very familiar with splitting wood, so I chopped a few pieces for them.

This showed up later 🪵🔥

People always ask how big these logs actually are.
So here’s a Tim Hortons extra-large cup for scale ☕️🌳

This is Burr Oak. Oak isn’t something you rush. It typically takes 2 to 3 years to properly season, and this load has been seasoning for two years, making it prime and ready to burn. Dense, heavy, long-burning firewood.

We’ve got a lot more of this coming back to the yard.

As always, the website has the most up-to-date information on availability and pricing.
