Some of the most interesting things at PAD London PAD revealed themselves only when I moved closer.
Repeated forms, intricate surfaces, unexpected colour, and materials that made me question what I was looking at.
Bouke de Vries’s Cupid Juggling Broken Plates was a particular highlight: a historic carved figure surrounded by blue-and-white porcelain fragments, bringing objects from different periods into a new conversation.
Elsewhere, rippling reliefs, layered surfaces and richly detailed furniture kept drawing me back.
These are the details I look for when designing a home: pieces with enough character to hold your attention, and enough depth to keep revealing something new.
A few discoveries from my visit, through the Studio Jordao lens.
Which would you want to see up close?
