Zooming in on those piercing blue eyes …

I’ve been creating a series of small paintings, and I’m excited to share where they’re heading.

I’ve been selected as one of the featured artists in the May edition of the Square Foot Show with The Turquoise Iris - Dionne Woods headlining this month’s theme, Awaken.

It’s a fast-paced, 24-hour online show bringing together 30+ artists = small works, big energy, and often snapped up as soon as the show goes live.

Took a little detour from canvas with this one.

I painted this mannequin for a feature with The Turquoise Iris Journal and really enjoyed doing something different for a change.

I’ve been working on a series of small paintings (30 cm / about a square foot) - a huge shift in scale for me, and I’m really enjoying it.

I’m excited to share I’ve been selected as one of the featured artists for the Square Foot Show, with Dionne Woods as the headliner, our theme is Awaken.

In the studio … one big, one small. Total opposites.

I like working on at least two paintings at once. If I get stuck on one, I just move across to the other instead of overthinking it. Keeps things moving.

Also very practical… no paint gets wasted. ( paint is liquid gold in Swissy ) What’s left on the palette usually finds its way onto the next piece.

Anyone else work like this or are you strictly one-at-a-time?

I shared these little swan paintings the other day, and then came the frame hunt…

Not as easy as it sounds.

I found some, but they were silver and just not it. So I painted them, added a bit of stencil detail, and now they actually feel like they belong with the work.

I love them now, they have a bit of a vintage romantic vibe.

They’re small (22 x 17 cm), perfect for any space. You could even put them on a shelf.

There's courage in staying with it, in adjusting, trying again, letting something new take shape even when things feel uncertain.
A fresh start doesn't always arrive loudly... sometimes it's already underway .

In this chapter, we step into something deeper, the messy middle of becoming.

Im part of this film alongside 13 creative women, sharing the unseen side of the journey - doubt, grief, identity shifts, pressure and the questions that surface when life changes.
The messy middle… it’s the part where many stop… but also where things begin to transform.

Can a leopard change its spots… or does it just keep finding new ways to show up?

I do seem to have a bit of a thing for them.

Layers and texture, with subtle surprises.

The kind you see differently over time.

And yes… it seems to make people smile, which I love.

It’s currently on display at the local opticians( Martinaglia Optik) ….
quite fitting really.
