A slice of Australia on the shores of Lake Lucerne 🇨🇭
I had the joy of helping the owners of this brand new chalet — now a dreamy Airbnb — bring their vision to life without the overwhelm.

With one owner originally from Australia, we drew inspiration from back home: soft eucalyptus greens and golden wattle tones formed the heart of our colour story. 🌿

From layout and lighting to a curated kitchen plan and a flexible shopping list, I provided the foundation — giving them the confidence to make the space truly their own.

Now, nestled above the lake, this guesthouse feels as warm and welcoming as the people who created it.

I love lighting. I am always naturally drawn to beautiful lamps and lighting in all its various forms. It changes a room instantly, for better or worse.
Something as simple as choosing blue colour instead of warm tones in a home light bulb will change the mood of the room from uncomfortable to comfortable in my opinion. Here’s some of my current favorites that I’ve seen here in Switzerland to inspire you

Light isn’t just illumination — it’s emotion, dimension, and soul. Each beam sculpts space, tells a story, and invites wonder.”

🪐 *The ethereal glow of the Artemide Stella Nebula, the poetic flutter of Luceplan’s Illan, and the liquid luminescence of Tom Dixon’s Melt Pendant — together, they’re not just lights, they’re moments.*

Let your home breathe with light that feels like art.

This beautiful farmhouse in Switzerland had a story — one written over decades, through renovations by both the current and past owners. But like many older homes, the bathrooms had been left behind… untouched for almost 30 years.

They were small, dark, and dated — spaces that felt forgotten in a home full of potential.
When I stepped in, my goal was to honor the farmhouse’s rustic charm while bringing in a sense of calm, cohesion, and casual luxury.

The shiplap detailing found throughout the house inspired me to carry it right into the bathrooms — something that isn’t so common here in Switzerland, but with a bit of advocacy (and the right builder), we made it happen beautifully.

We layered textures and tones to create spaces that felt both old-world and fresh. The dark blue lime wash paint added depth and serenity, and when paired with warm, stone-colored tiles and handmade rustic floor tile, it brought a hint of a Hammam spa — a retreat, right at home.
Most importantly, this project was deeply collaborative. I supported my client in navigating material choices, communicating with contractors, and understanding the “why” behind every design detail. It’s a partnership I’m incredibly proud of — and the result is a home that feels like them.
🤍
If your home feels disjointed, unfinished, or like it just doesn’t reflect your style — you’re not alone. Whether you’re renovating an old farmhouse or refreshing a single room, I’m here to help guide the process, advocate for your vision, and bring it to life.

Bathroom: This project was a lot of fun as the client wanted more than a standard bathroom of white functional tiles. We sourced real tiles which had grooves and marks in them for the floor, dark blue lime wash with a sprinkle of gold sparkle on a wall and the rest of the walls in shiplap as this is a common theme in the farmhouse. The shower cubicle I sourced a beautiful large Italian tile to work together with the neutral@stone colour for the walls. The ceiling had wooden slats that needed pulling down as rotten so@we were able to put in a plain clean ceiling. As such a small space we had fun with the room which is now a gorgeous bathroom made just for them. Thank you for trusting me.

Living Room:
The farmhouse has really low ceilings but the living room has large cupboards that were almost the height of the room which made it feel really cramped and bought the ceilings down even lower. They were ready for a change as the kids are now young adults and it was time to transform the space into a relaxing space. We moved the tall cupboards out and replaced with low level bookshelves which opened up the wall space and created space and light. They had a lot of photos and pictures that had never been hung up so now the wall space had been created for these.
We had the 2 sofas re- upholstered as the family loved them to create some symmetry in the room. I love how this living room has morphed into a more grown up space where even the chooks are welcome 🤗

My Top 5 go to materials that last are Wood, Linens, Stone, Limewash paints and hardware in black or burnished brass. Go for the best quality your budget can afford especially in areas that get the most use. Then layer with the furniture and accessories that show off your character with colour and textures. This is what makes the room sparkle and give you the space you love that’s uniquely yours. Need a hand or feel overwhelmed? Dm me or reach out at [email protected] for next steps. I’d love to help.

Today’s TOP TIP: How to give the illusion of higher ceiling! Your welcome. If you need any further help DM me or check out link in Bio. Later this week I‘ll be showcasing a project in a farmhouse that has low ceilings and how with a change of furniture I created an open and light space.
