Some of the founding principles behind Monoplan’s foundation was comprehensive and interdisciplinary planning. Today the same principles are represented as milestone for all our projects. One of Monoplans biggest strengths is the ability to translate our client’s wishes into the finest architecture and design. With our international team that consists of 30 employees from more than 12 nations, Monoplan has the opportunity to approach each and every assignment from a wide range of viewpoints, allowing us to turn intricate complex ideas into unique, customized solutions that suit every situation.

HOSPITALITY IN THE HEART OF GENEVA

In early 2022, Ruby Hotel Geneva opened its doors in the heart of Geneva, just steps away from Lake Geneva and surrounded by the city’s main shopping streets, Rue de Rhône and Rue du Marché.

Monoplan was appointed to develop the plans for the transformation and repurposing of the former office buildings into Geneva’s first Ruby Hotel. The project brought together three interconnected buildings, including one with a preserved historic façade, creating a dialogue between the city’s architectural heritage and contemporary hospitality.

Following the design language of the Ruby Hotels brand, the interiors combine an urban character with carefully curated details and a warm, laid back atmosphere. While the project shares certain similarities with other Ruby Hotels such as Ruby Coco Hotel & Bar and Ruby Lilly Hotel & Bar, the Geneva location was developed with its own distinct identity inspired by the city and its context.

A STORY WORTH SHARING.

Over 600 years of history, remarkable architecture and a new chapter in hospitality. Our Villa Florhof project in Zurich has quite a story to tell!

The transformation of this historic patrician house into Zurich’s first Lalique boutique hotel was a very special project for our team. Preserving its architectural heritage while giving the building a new purpose required a careful balance between history and contemporary hospitality.

SOÏ 28 FEATURED IN RAUM & WOHNEN

We were happy to see Soï 28 at the Widder Hotel featured in Raum & Wohnen Magazin.

For Soï 28, Monoplan developed an interior inspired by Asian dining culture, where food is social, vibrant, and meant to be shared.

Counter seats, stools, and benches are intentionally positioned close together. Sitting shoulder to shoulder becomes part of the experience, creating a lively and connected atmosphere inspired by the streets and food culture of Asia.

A key visual element is the bamboo wall painting by Mathias Truniger, developed together with Soda Studios and inspired by the original historic ceiling. It creates a dialogue between the building's heritage and the contemporary Asian-inspired concept.

We are grateful to Raum & Wohnen for featuring the project and celebrating the connection between architecture, interior design, and gastronomy.

A SPACE FOR IDEAS AND EXCHANGE

Our Zurich office is shaped by carefully chosen new furniture that brings comfort, function and character to the space. But for us, an office is about more than how it looks.

How we work together is an important part of Monoplan, and we want our team to enjoy coming to work.The atmosphere of a space plays an important part in that. From the entrance and kitchen to the open office, every area should support the way we work together, exchange ideas and spend our days.

And that also means making room for moments away from the desk. A coffee together, a conversation in the kitchen or simply a short break can be exactly what is needed to return to work with fresh energy and focus!

Materials, shapes, lighting and furniture all contribute to creating an environment that feels warm, clear and welcoming. Because for us, good design is about looking at the whole picture and creating spaces that work for the people who use them every day.

Ein Hotel ist immer auch ein wirtschaftliches Produkt, es muss funktionieren, tragfähig sein und zur Zielgruppe passen. Wenn Gestaltung, Budget, Betrieb und Konzept nicht zusammenpassen, bleibt Design oft nur Oberfläche. Design allein entscheidet nicht über den Erfolg. Es ist die Kombination aus klarer Positionierung, emotionaler Wirkung und wirtschaftlicher Umsetzbarkeit, die ein Projekt wirklich trägt.”

THANK YOU, MUNICH!

What a great two days at the Independent Hotel Show Munich. Great vibes, inspiring conversations, new connections, and plenty of familiar faces. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and took the time to connect with us!

A special highlight was our Power Breakfast, where we had the pleasure of presenting the Hospitality Venture Club 2026 winner, Nexa.ai , and giving them the stage to share their vision for the future of hotel discovery and booking in an AI-driven world.

A big thank you to Daniel Schneider, Luca Weinmann and Wolfgang Gallas for representing Monoplan in Munich and for making the event such a great experience.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for breakfast and participated in the conversation. It was a great morning with an amazing atmosphere, good coffee, and even better exchange.

And of course, a big thank you to the team behind the Independent Hotel Show Munich for bringing the hospitality community together.

CELEBRATING EXCELLENCE IN MUNICH.

INNSiDE by Meliá Elounda is a Winner at the ICONIC AWARDS 2026 in the category Architecture – Transformation.

The ICONIC AWARDS by German Design Council recognise pioneering architectural projects and sustainable solutions across architecture, interior and product design. Receiving this distinction among international competition makes the recognition particularly meaningful for us.

On 6 October, Lars Schulte and Romanos Gortsios will be in Munich to accept the award for Team Monoplan and celebrate together with the other winners.

And the timing could hardly be better: with @‌EXPO REAL taking place in Munich at the same time, it will be a great opportunity to combine the award ceremony with conversations and encounters across the real estate and architecture industries.

Our team is looking forward to reconnecting with familiar faces at the ICONIC AWARDS, meeting new people and exchanging ideas with fellow professionals from across the industry.

From 5–7 October 2026, Monoplan will once again be attending EXPO REAL in Munich, the leading international trade fair for real estate and investment.

EXPO REAL brings together key decision-makers from real estate, hospitality and investment to discuss the trends shaping the future of the industry.

SHIC 2026: TWO DAYS TO REMEMBER.

Two days by Lake Zurich, 180 participants and a hospitality community bringing together perspectives from across the industry. We are happy to look back on another edition of the Swiss Hospitality Investment Club and proud to have been part of it as Host Partner.

While we came together at the incredible SAMIGO location on the first day to discuss global travel trends, investment, branded residences, new hospitality concepts and the challenges shaping our industry, the many panels and conversations gave us plenty of new perspectives to take away.

Day two started with something a little more “out of the box”: A Breathwork session and a Morning Swim with Igor Sehic in Lake Zurich. From there, we headed out to visit some of the city’s hospitality projects, including our latest one, Villa Florhof. After a full day of discussions, it was a great opportunity to experience some of the topics we had talked about first-hand.

And of course, SHIC is just as much about the people as it is about the programme. Meeting familiar faces, making new connections and continuing conversations on the SAMIGO rooftop overlooking Lake Zurich is what makes these two days so special.

A big thank you to the SHIC Partners Karin Emmenegger, Ion Eglin and our Founder & Senior Partner Daniel Schneider, to the entire team behind the event, all speakers, sponsors and everyone who joined SHIC.

As Host Partner, we are very happy to support a format that brings the hospitality community together in such an open and personal way.
