If you’re feeling a bit restless or on edge, don’t worry—you’re not going crazy, and you’re not alone. 😆

As we enter the year 2025, we are guided by the Heavenly Stem Yi (乙), which symbolizes Wood and is associated with the liver. The Earthly Branch Si (巳) represents Fire and is connected to our hearts. Together, these elements create a Wood-Fire year. With the energies of both Wood and Fire surging, it‘s natural to feel a bit restless or easily irritated.

So I decided to do a Simple Tea Ritual for Calmness and Stillness, with my cherished 3-year-old raw Pu’er and a beautiful herkimer diamond to nurture my spirit in this intense time.

① Cleansing: Embracing the Energy of Herkimer Diamond
Raw Pu‘er has a naturally cooling quality, known for its ability to help alleviate heat and discomfort from the liver. I gently placed the tea leaves on the Herkimer diamond for about five minutes. I could almost feel the crystal absorbing any negative energy, readying the tea to offer a pure and healing experience.

② Chanting: 108 Heartfelt Repetitions of the Six-Syllable Mantra
I then closed my eyes and allowed my heart to open to the mantra “Om Mani Padme Hum,” repeating it 108 times. Each repetition felt like a gentle stream, washing over me, allowing me to breathe a little deeper with every sound.

③ Brewing: A Connected Flow of Water and Crystal.
I heated the water to 90°C to awaken the tea leaves’ rich flavors. As I slowly poured it over the crystal, I watched in quiet awe as the soft yellow color seeped into the cup. So soothing.

④ Drinking: Finding Peace in Stillness
As I sipped the warm tea, it flowed smoothly down my throat. It started with a gentle bitterness that soon blossomed into a sweetness, leaving behind a refreshing, fruity aftertaste. The herkimer diamond twinkled softly by my side, and the heat in my chest gradually transformed into a serene stillness.

Simple, yet deeply healing: Encompassing a pot of tea, a lovely crystal, and the vibration of a mantra, brought me profound comfortand stillness.
