Some pieces are more than just something I make they carry a little bit of a story with them.
This one was specially made for a very dear friend of mine, with colours chosen just for her. Soft, calming blues mixed with natural tones , a little bit free, a little bit adventurous, and somehow very her. 🌊✨
I first met her about 12 years ago, and I still remember thinking, “What on earth is she saying?” 😂 I genuinely could barely understand her English! And somehow, from that very first meeting, a friendship began that has lasted through the years, the distance and all the different places life has taken us.
And one thing about her ,she always makes the effort. 🥹 Wherever in the world we’ve ended up, she has somehow managed to come and visit us. Bristol, Cambridge, Cyprus… pretty much everywhere except the Falklands 😂. No matter the distance or how busy life gets, she has always found a way, and that means more to me than she probably realises.
So making this piece especially for her feels a little different. It’s not just a macramé piece, it’s something made for a friendship that has travelled a very long way over the last 12 years. ♥️♥️
Here’s to old friendships, ridiculous first impressions, many miles travelled, and the people who continue to show up no matter where in the world you are.
