The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to explore how 3D-print technology simplifies production, challenges conventional supply chain and distribution models, and supports the principles of sustainability. The selection of products by designers working with 3D printing was made with an emphasis on visual value and functional quality.
Through this exhibition, we aim to introduce the public to 3D printing as a tool for sustainable, innovative, and aesthetically valuable design that reflects both current and future societal needs.
Global Design, Local Manufacturing – Introducing Distributed Design
We focus on sustainability enabled by 3D printing. This approach opens up compelling perspectives for both designers and manufacturers regarding the future of production and product distribution. There is no longer a need to produce large volumes for stock to achieve economic viability. There is no longer a need to ship goods across half the globe. We can manufacture only what the customer orders – and where they order it.
