The Little Shop with Big Ideas
The Wheelock team got together over 7 years ago when Lloyd and Sasha met at in Prague, studying Czech.
Lloyd worked with technology startups, and Sasha was in love with artists and designers. They decided to join forces, and create something together. They created a family.
An American-Ukrainian family, made in the Czech Republic. This venture sparked our mutual interest in unlikely ideas in unlikely places. Sasha worked in Prague’s design community, learning the ins and outs of retail. Lloyd worked with technology startups, learning how to build businesses based on nothing but a really cool idea and a great team.
Together, we explored the designer and maker fairs of Central and East Europe. We visited hundreds of shops and designers. We learned that the key to creating rich spaces and memories that last is to focus on the details. It’s those tiny little details that can make a space comfortable, or make a woman feel beautiful- a man feel distinctive, or a child feel special. It’s the details that are just somehow different from anything you’ve seen before. The little something that makes an everyday object something unexpected and delightful. You don’t know how to describe it... but you know it when you see it.
