To give people back the power of nature, the source from which we all originate but have lost in modern times. To generate warmth and light which emanates from candles with stories. This was and still is the simple and honest mission with which Ieva Dexter and Elina Cima created the Munio Candela brand and the first collection of candles in 2008. In Latin, Munio Candela means “the most spiritually

powerful candle”. Every candle is carefully and lovingly made by hand using only 100% natural soy wax and aromas. Nurtured by Latvian master craftsmen, the candles feature high quality design.

August at The Munio 🤍

Usually, August is one of those months when things slow down a little before autumn begins.

This year… not so much. 😊

Our studio was busy with your orders, new ideas and lots of preparations for the season ahead — and honestly, it made me very happy to see how The Munio continues to grow.

A few little August moments:

🤍 We started our new People Behind The Munio series, and I went first — sharing a little more about the person behind the brand.

✨ We welcomed our new Body Lotions to the body care family.

🌲 We announced our next autumn forest walk & natural fragrance workshop, and you filled every available spot incredibly quickly.

👭 I also had the special joy of having my sister Laura back in Latvia. She runs our The Munio store in Germany, so we spend much of the year working from different countries. That makes the moments when we’re together even more special.

🌸 We started saying goodbye to our Spring / Summer scents to make space for a new season.

🎥 And behind the scenes, we've been creating, planning and filming a lot.

It feels like a very full autumn is waiting for us, and I can't wait to share more of it with you.

A little reminder from us before we say goodbye to summer.

Science continues to explore what we have perhaps always known intuitively — spending time in nature can support our wellbeing and help us feel calmer and more restored.

Maybe that's why we keep finding our way back.

Not to escape life.

When we create something new, I always ask myself the same question:

When we created our Scented Wax Tablets, I thought of all the little places that deserve to smell beautiful too. 🤍

Not just our living rooms.
But wardrobes.
Drawers.
Travel bags.
The car you spend hours in every week.
The little everyday spaces that often go unnoticed.

And once the fragrance begins to soften, don't let them go just yet.

Hi, I'm Elīna. 🤍

For years, I've shared stories about The Munio, but I realised I've shared very little about myself.

So I thought it was time to change that.

I'm happiest when I'm with my family.

Whenever I need to recharge, you'll probably find me in Engure, Latvia. There's something about that place... the sea, the pine trees, the air. It smells like nowhere else I've ever been.

Something many people don't know is that I'm also a breathwork teacher. Breathing has become one of the most important rituals in my own life. It helps me slow down, find clarity, and come back to myself.

And if it's mushroom season... you'll definitely find me somewhere in the forest looking for chanterelles. I genuinely think it's one of the best forms of meditation.

Looking back, I realise all of these things have quietly found their way into The Munio.

Nature has always been my greatest inspiration.
